T o start an elapsed time operation while in the Timekeeping Mode
1. In the Timek eeping Mode, press B to start elapsed time measurement.
• After you press B in the Timekeeping Mode, elapsed time measurement will not
start for about one second.
• The elapsed time measurement will not star t if you press B in the Timekeeping
Mode while either of the follo wing conditions exists .
While an alarm is sounding
While the watch is changing from one date to the next (at midnight)
2. Press B to stop elapsed time measurement.
• Y ou can restart and stop elapsed time measurement as man y times as you like b y
pressing B .
• The bottom dial hand indicates 1/20 seconds during the first 60 seconds only , and
then stops. When elapsed time measurement is stopped (by pressing B), the
bottom dial hand will jump to the 1/20 second indication (which is kept internally).
3. Check the elapsed time.
• After you are finished measuring elapsed time, press D to reset the stopwatch. The
stopwatch will stop and reset e ven if you press D while elapsed time measurement
is in progress.
• T o return to regular timekeeping, press D while the stopwatch is reset.
W orld Time
The W orld Time Mode sho ws you the current time in 29
cities (29 time zones) around the world. A simple
operation swaps y our Home City with the currently
selected World Time City .
• When you enter the W orld Time Mode, the indicator
hand will move automatically to the city code that is
currently selected as the World Time City code. At the
same time, the right dial hands will mov e to the current
time in that city .
• If the current time shown for a city is wrong, chec k your
Home City settings and make the necessary changes.
• All of the operations in this section are performed in the
World Time Mode.

T o view the time in another city
In the W orld Time Mode, use D to move the indicator hand cloc kwise to the city code
of the city you want to select as the World Time City .
• The right dial hands will mo ve to indicate the current time in the selected city code .
The day displa y will continue to indicate the da y in your Home City .
• For full inf ormation on city codes, see the “City Code T able”.
T o check whether the time f or the selected city code is Standar d Time or
Daylight Saving Time
1. In the World Time Mode, use D to select the city code that y ou want to check.
2. Press A.
• The bottom dial hand will move to OFF in the case of Standard Time, and to ON in
the case of Daylight Sa ving Time.
• If you do not perform any operation f or about three seconds, the w atch will return
automatically to regular timekeeping.
T o toggle a city code time between Standar d Time and Da ylight Saving Time
1. In the World Time Mode, use D to mo ve the indicator
hand to the city code whose Standard Time/Da ylight
Saving Time setting y ou want to change.
2. Hold down A f or about three seconds until the watch
beeps. This will cause the bottom dial to toggle between
ON (Daylight Sa ving Time) and OFF (Standard Time).
• Note that you cannot switch betw een Standard Time and
Daylight Sa ving Time while UTC is selected as the city
code.
• Note that the Standard Time/Da ylight Saving Time
setting affects only the currently displa yed city code .
Other city codes are not affected.

Swapping your Home City and W orld Time City
Y ou can use the procedure belo w to s wap y our Home City and World Time City . This
changes your Home City to your W orld Time City , and your World Time City to your
Home City . This capability can come in handy when y ou frequently tra vel between two
cities in different time zones .
T o swap y our Home City and W o rld Time City
1. In the World Time Mode, use D to move the indicator hand to the World Time City
you want.
2. Hold down B for about three seconds until the watch beeps .
• This will mak e the World Time City (which you selected in step 1) y our Home City . At
the same time, it changes the Home City you had selected prior to step 2 your W orld
Time City .
• After swapping the Home City and W orld Time City , the w atch will sta y in the World
Time Mode with the city that was selected as the Home City prior to step 2 now
display ed as the World Time City .
Alarm
When the alarm is tur ned on, the alarm sounds when the
alarm time is reached.
• Whenev er you enter the Alarm Mode, the indicator hand
will move to the ALM position. The bottom dial will mo ve
to the alarm’s current ON /OFF status .
• All of the operations in this section are performed in the
Alarm Mode.
T o set an alarm time
1. In the Alarm Mode, hold down A f or about three
seconds until the watch beeps. This indicates it is in the
setting mode.
• The bottom dial will move to ON (alarm on) at this
time.

2. Use D (+) and B (–) to change the alarm time setting in the r ight dial.
• Each press of either button changes the setting b y one minute.
3. After setting the alarm time, press A to exit the setting mode.
• Setting the alarm time causes the alar m to turn on automatically .
Alarm Operation
The alarm tone sounds at the alarm time for 10 seconds, regardless of the mode the
watch is in.
• Alarm operations are performed in accordance with the Timek eeping Mode time.
• Pressing any button stops the alarm tone operation.
T o toggle an alarm on and off
In the Alarm Mode, press A to toggle the alarm setting indicated by the bottom dial
hand ON or OFF.
Adjusting the Home P ositions
If you notice that the watch hands are not indicating 12 o’cloc k, ON/OFF settings, or
other indicator settings correctly , y ou can adjust the “home positions” of the hands
manually to correct them.
T o adjust the home positions
1. In the Timekeeping Mode , as you hold down A, hold
down C f or about three seconds until the watch beeps.
• This indicates that the w atch is in the home position
adjustment mode.
• If the bottom dial hand moves to 12 o’cloc k, it is in the
correct home position. If it doesn’t, use D to mov e
the bottom dial hand to 12 o’clock.
• The indicator hand is also in the proper home position
if it moves to 12 o’cloc k. If it doesn’ t, press B to
move it to 12 o’cloc k.

2. After confirming that the bottom dial hand and indicator
hand are both at the proper home positions, press C.
This will switch to hour hand and minute hand home
position adjustment.
• The hour hand and min ute hand are at their proper
home positions if they both mov e to 12 o’clock, and if
the left dial hand is pointing at 24. If the hands are not
positioned correctly , use D (+) and B (–) to move all
three hands to their proper home positions.
• The left dial hand mo ves in accordance with the hour ,
minute, and second settings. As y ou set the time, tak e
care to ensure that the left dial hand also is at the
correct position.
3. After confirming that the hands are in the correct home
positions, press C . This will advance to right dial hands
home position adjustment.

• If the right dial hands (hour, minute) both point at 24, it
means that they are at their proper home positions . If
they aren’t, use D (+) and B (–) to mov e the hands
until they point at 24.
4. After confirming that the right dial hands are in the
correct home positions, press C . This will advance to
day home position adjustment.
• The da y is in the correct home position if it shows “1”.
If it doesn’t, use D (+) and B (–) to change the day
to “1”.
5. T o return to regular timekeeping, press A.

A uto Return Features
• If you leav e the watch in the Alarm Mode for tw o or three minutes without performing
any operation, it will return to regular timekeeping automatically .
• If you do not perform any operation f or about two or three minutes while a setting
mode is selected, the watch will e xit the setting mode automatically .
High-Speed Movement
• The D and B buttons are used to change the hand setting in v arious setting
modes. In most cases, holding do wn these buttons will start high-speed movement
of the applicable hand(s) and da y .
• High-speed movement of the hands and da y will continue until y ou press any button,
or until the moving hand(s) and day finish one complete cycle .
– One complete cycle for the hands is 24 hours.
– One complete cycle for the da y is 31 days.
Timekeeping
• The date will change automatically when the current time reaches midnight. The
date change at the end of the month may tak e more time than normal.
• The current time for all city codes in the Timekeeping Mode is calculated in
accordance with Universal Time Coordinated (UTC*) data of each city , based on
your Home City time setting.
* UTC is the world-wide scientific standard of timek eeping. It is based upon
carefully maintained atomic (cesium) clocks that keep time accur ately to within
microseconds. Leap seconds are added or subtracted as necessary to keep UTC
in sync with the Earth’s rotation. The ref erence point for UTC is Greenwich,
England.
