T o turn auto receive on and off
1. Press B to display the Last Signal screen.
2. Hold down A so the current auto receiv e setting (R/C
on or R/C OF) is flashing. This is the setting screen.
• Though illumination will also turn on when you press
A, keep the button held down until R/C on or R/C OF
flashes.
• Note that the setting screen will not appear if the
currently selected Home Time Zone is one that does
not suppor t time calibration reception.
3. Press C to toggle auto receiv e on (on ) and off (OF).
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.

receive, see “T o specify your Home Time Zone”.

Probable Cause
• The watch is not in the Timekeeping

UTC –6, or UTC –5
( DST ON : UTC +1 , UTC +2 , UTC +3 ,

• If the time is one hour off, the DST
setting ma y be incorrect.

The Home Time Zone setting is not correct
for the area where y ou are using the watch

Signal Reception T roubleshooting
Check the follo wing points whenever you e xperience problems with signal reception.
• F or further information, see “Important!” under “Time Calibr ation Signal Reception”
and “Radio-controlled Atomic Timekeeping Precautions”.
Dual Time
The Dual Time Mode sho ws you the current time in 29
time zones around the world.
• If the current time sho wn for a time zone is wrong, chec k
your Home Time Zone time settings and mak e the
necessary changes.
• All of the operations in this section are perf ormed in the
Dual Time Mode, which you enter b y pressing B.
T o vie w the time in another Time Zone
1. In the Dual Time Mode, press C to display the UTC diff erential value of the
currently selected time zone for about tw o seconds.
2. T o change the UTC differential value , press C while a UTC differential v alue is on
the display to scroll eastw ard through time zones.
• Note that if you do not press C to scroll within two seconds after displaying a
UTC differential v alue, the displa y will change automatically to the current time
based on the currently display ed UTC diff erential value .
3. When the UTC differential value y ou want is on the displa y , do not perform any
button operation f or about two seconds. This will cause the current time to appear ,
which will be based on the UTC differential value y ou selected.

T o toggle a time zone time between Standar d Time and Daylight Saving Time
1. In the Dual Time Mode , use C to display the time z one
whose Standard Time/Daylight Sa ving Time setting you
want to change.
2. Hold down A to toggle Daylight Sa ving Time (DST
indicator display ed) and Standard Time (DST indicator
not display ed).
• T urning on DST causes the UTC differential value to be increased b y one.
• Though illumination will also turn on when you press A, keep the b utton held down
until DST indicator display ed or DST indicator not display ed.
• The DST indicator will appear whene ver y ou displa y a time zone for which Da ylight
Saving Time is tur ned on.
• Note that the DST/Standard Time setting aff ects only the currently displa yed time
zone. Other time zones are not affected.
• Note that you cannot s witch between Standard Time and Da ylight Saving Time while
UTC is selected as the time zone.
• Note that you cannot use the Dual Time Mode to change the DST setting of the
Home Time Zone you currently ha ve selected in the Timekeeping Mode. See “T o
change the Da ylight Saving Time (summer time) setting” for inf or mation about
turning the Home Time Zone DST setting on and off .
DST indicator
Alarm
Y ou can set a Daily Alar m. When an alarm is tur ned on, the alarm tone sounds when
the alarm time is reached.
Y ou can also tur n on an Hourly Time Signal that causes the watch to beep twice ev ery
hour on the hour .
• When y ou enter the Alarm Mode, the screen you were viewing when y ou last exited
the mode appears first.
• All of the operations in this section are perf ormed in the Alarm Mode, which you
enter by pressing B.
• In the Alarm Mode, you can press C to toggle the displa y contents as shown below.

T o set an alarm time, and to turn Alarm on and off
1. In the Alarm Mode, use C to display the Alarm Screen.
2. Hold down A until the hour setting of the alarm time
star ts to flash, which indicates the setting screen.
• Though illumination will also turn on when you press
A, keep the button held do wn until the hour setting of
the alarm time flashes.
• This operation automatically turns on the alarm.
3. Press B to change the flashing contents in the sequence shown belo w to select
other settings.

correctly as a.m. (no indicator) or p.m. (P indicator).

Alarm Operation
The alarm sounds at the preset time for about 10 seconds.

T o turn the hourly time signal on and off
1. In the Alarm Mode, use C to display the Hourly Time
Signal Screen.
2. Hold down A until the hourly time signal on/off status
starts to flash, which indicates the setting screen.
• Though illumination will also turn on when you press
A, keep the button held down until the hourly time
signal on/off status flashes.
• This operation automatically turns on the hourly time
signal.
3. Press C to toggle it on and off .
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.

Stopwatch
The stopwatch lets you measure elapsed time .
• The displa y range of the stopwatch is 59 minutes, 59.99
seconds.
• The stopw atch continues to run, restarting from zero
after it reaches its limit, until you stop it.
• The stopw atch measurement operation continues e ven
if you exit the Stopw atch Mode.
• All of the oper ations in this section are performed in the
Stopwatch Mode, which y ou enter by pressing B.

T o measure times with the stopwatch
Elapsed Time
Illumination
An LED (light-emitting diodes) illuminate the digital display
for easy reading in the dark.
• See “Illumination Precautions” f or other impor tant
information.
T o turn on illumination
• In any mode (e xcept when a setting screen is on the
display), press A to illuminate the digital displa y .
• When turning on illumination, press A and immediately release it. If you keep A
held down too long, either of the operations described below will be pef or med.
If you hold do wn A while in the Timekeeping Mode, Alarm Mode, or Hand
Setting Mode
The figures on the display will start to flash, which indicates the setting screen. If
this happens, press A again to e xit the setting screen.
If you hold do wn A while in the Dual Time Mode
The DST setting will toggle between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time ,
which will aff ect the current time setting.
If this happens, hold down A again to toggle setting back to its original setting (if
necessary).
