Refrigerant line connection
(Flare connnections)
Collegamento linea refrigerante
(attacchi a cartella)
Refrigerant lines > 4 m:
Add refrigerant for each metre in excess of
this size according to the following table:
Refrigerant charge (g/m)
Diameter 1/4" 5/16" 3/8" 1/2" 5/8" 3/4"
mm 6,35 7,94 9,52 12,7 15,87 19,05
Liquid 15 25 40 75 120 180
Suction —— 614 2 334
After completing the above steps, remove
nut 2 and open the valve completely with
an ALLEN wrench. The valve is closed
before leaving the factory.
Check that there are no refrigerant leaks.
IMPORTANT:
The indications given above refer to
both the suction line and the liquid
line.
Linee di collegamento > 4 m:
Aggiungere fluido refrigerante per ogni
metro aggiuntivo di tubo in funzione delle
dimensioni riportate nella tabella seguente:
Carica refrigerante (gr/m)
Diametro 1/4" 5/16" 3/8" 1/2" 5/8" 3/4"
mm 6,35 7,94 9,52 12,7 15,87 19,05
Liquido 15 25 40 75 120 180
Aspirazione —— 614 2 334
Dopo aver effettuato le suddette operazioni
rimuovere il bocchettone 2 e aprire comple-
tamente la valvola con una chiave a
brugola. La valvola viene fornita chiusa.
Controllare che non ci siano perdite di
refrigerante
IMPORTANTE:
ricordare quanto segue:
ogni 3.5 m in eccesso.

Refrigerant line selection
General conditions
When designing the refrigerant lines, the
following must be kept in mind:
Depending on the unit arrangement:
Suction line (option A):
A trap is needed at the base of the
vertical stretch.
MOST UNFAVOURABLE CONDITION
The suction speed in the vertical stretch
must be higher than 6 m/s.
Suction line (option B):
The intermediate traps can be omitted.
MOST UNFAVOURABLE CONDITION:
The suction speed in the vertical stretch
must be higher than 6 m/s.
For both option A and for option B you must
remember the following:
The maximum speed permitted in any line
is 15 m/s.
The suction line must be insulated and
have a 2% slope towards the compressor
in the horizontal stretch.
In long lengths it could be necessary to
adjust the oil charge.
The liquid should be subcooled by at
least 1 K at the restrictor inlet. If the liquid
line is ariser and longer than 15 m, it must
be subcooled 1 K for each 3.5 m in
excess.
