1 x Replacement propeller
1 x Battery Charger
1 x Rechargeable Battery
1 x 4 AAA batteries (non-rechargeable)
Charging the rechargeable battery
2
First connect the Carrera RC rechargeable bat-
tery to the battery charger supplied. The connec-
tion terminals between the battery and the charg-
er are designed to prevent connection with the
wrong polarity. Connect the charger to a power
source.
When the battery is properly connected and
charging normally, the red LED is constantly lit.
Once the battery is fully charged, the red LED
switches to green. The battery can now be dis-
connected and installed in the Carrera RC boat.
The boat is now ready for use.
After use, the battery must be allowed to cool
down for at least 20 minutes before it can be
fully recharged. Failure to observe this pause may
damage the battery.
Always recharge the battery immediately after
use to prevent its becoming deep discharged.
Recharge the battery occasionally (suggested
every 2-3 months). Failure to treat the battery
as described above can lead to its becoming
defective. Rechargeable batteries are only to
be charged by adults.
Installing the rechargeable battery
3
Press the sliding switch on the left-hand side at the
rear and remove the deck of the boat (with figure
and cockpit) with a careful movement to the rear
and upwards.
5
Using a screwdriver, remove the cover of the bat-
tery compartment in the Carrera RC boat.
6
Connect the end of the cable from theCarrera RC
boat with the charged battery. Put the battery in
place. Replace the compartment cover using a
screwdriver.
7
Put the deck of the boat (with figure & cockpit)
carefully back in place on the hull. Make sure that
the sliding switch latches in place correctly.
Fitting in the batteries
8
Press the release button, then take the battery
compartment out of the controller.
9
Take care when inserting the batteries that the
polarity is correct. Different types of batteries or
new and used batteries are not to be mixed. Push
the battery compartment back into the controller
until it clicks into place.
When the control LED flashes rapidly, the batter-
ies in the controller must be changed.
Now you can drive the boat
10
When using the boat, it must if necessary be con-
nected with the controller.
To do this, you first switch on the controller, plug
in the battery to the boat, switch the boat on and
then press the small button located in the battery
compartment until the LED lamp lights up continu-
ously. (See also installation of the batteries)
11
A connection can only be made when the boat
is in contact with the water.
Let’s practise!
12
Caution: this boat can reach speeds up to 35
km/h.
When first starting, be very careful when operat-
ing the gas pedal. Practice running slowly for at
least two to three full charges of the battery before
you start practising faster manoeuvres.
Before launching from the bank, make sure
the boat and the controller are connected
(see above)
Avoid constant motor operation.
Bring the boat back to the bank after about
15 minutes to change the battery
After use, remove or disconnect the battery.
Never run more than 2 batteries down one
after the other. After running down two fully-
charged batteries, a pause in running for at
least 20 minutes is essential.
After sailing it, clean the Carrera RC boat
carefully
Always recharge the battery immediately
after use to prevent its becoming deep dis-
charged.
Always keep the Carrera RC battery stored
outside the boat.
Controller functions
13
When the controller is switched on, the red LED
lamps at the front of the controller are lit.
14
Steering digital proportional
Gas pedal to the rear: forwards
Gas pedal to the front: braking, or backwards
Please also note that, due to the “turning effect”,
the steering radius of a left-hand curve is greater
than that of a right-hand curve.
15
The 2.4 GHz controller is suitable for left- or right-
handers and can be adjusted as necessary by
unscrewing and refixing the steering unit accord-
ingly.
16
Function can be changed by remounting the
steering unit
To remount, unsrew the three screws on the in-
side of the steering unit and screw them to the
opposite side.
Remove the cover plate from the other side and
mount the steering wheel to the opposite side.
Insert and tighten the three inner screws again.
Finished!
17
TH-TRIMM
Fine speed regulation
Here you can adjust the braking effect on your
boat.
18
TRIMM-steering
Fine steering adjustment
If the boat does not run in a straight line, you can
make fine steering adjustments here.
19
Range control
On leaving the radio frequency, the boat automati-
cally returns to within range radius.
On sailing out of range of the radio signal, or
with empty batteries in the controller, after about
5 seconds the boat will start to describe small,
ever-widening circles in order to regain radio
contact.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Boat does not move
Cause: Either the switch on the controller or the boat is set
to OFF.
Solution: Switch on
Cause: There is no rechargeable battery in the boat or the
battery is too weak.
Solution: Insert charged battery
Cause:
The overheat protection has caused the boat’s motor
to cut out due to excess temperature.
Solution: Switch off the receiver.
Leave the RC boat to cool down for approx. 30 minutes.
Cause:
The battery or rechargeable battery in the transmitter
or boat is too weak.
Solution: Insert new battery or recharged battery.
Cause: The boat is very warm.
Solution: Allow the RC boat to cool down for about 30 min-
utes.
Cause: The controller is possibly not correctly connected
with the receiver in the model.
Solution: Establish contact between model and controller
as described under “Now you can drive the boat”.
