[Auto Slow Shutter] [i On], [j Off]
The camcorder automatically uses slow shutter speeds to obtain brighter recordings in places with
insufficient lighting.
When this setting is set to [i On], the fastest shutter speed used is: 1/25 (50.00P) or 1/12
(25.00P).
Auto slow shutter can be activated only during mode, when the shooting mode is set to
or when infrared recording is activated.
If a trailing afterimage appears, set the auto slow shutter to [j Off].
Auto slow shutter is not available when the AGC limit is set.
[Flicker Reduction] [j Off], [k Automatic]
When this setting is set to [k Automatic], the camcorder will automatically detect and reduce
flicker.
When recording under light sources such as fluorescent, mercury or halogen lamps, the screen
may flicker depending on the shutter speed. You may be able to avoid flicker by setting the shutter
speed mode to a value matching the frequency of the local electrical system: 1/100 for 50 Hz
systems, 1/60 for 60 Hz systems.
[Conversion Lens] [¾ TL-U58], [¿ WA-U58], [j Off]
When you attach to the camcorder the optional TL-U58 Tele-converter or WA-U58 Wide Attachment,
set the appropriate conversion lens setting. The image stabilization method and minimum focusing
distance will change according to the accessory used. The minimum focusing distance throughout
the entire zoom range will be 130 cm for the tele-converter and about 60 cm for the wide
attachment.
The tele-converter increases the focal length of the lens by a factor of approx. 1.5. The wide
attachment reduces the focal length of the lens by a factor of approx. 0.8.
The approximate focusing distance displayed on the screen will change depending on the setting.
Select [j Off] when a conversion lens is not attached to the camcorder.
When a setting other than [j Off] is selected, [v Camera Setup] > [AF Mode] will not be
available.

press an assignable button set to [Ä WB Priority] to switch between the current white balance and
the white balance setting selected for [Set WB Priority].
