Preparing the Camera Unit
Preparing the camera unit includes attaching a lens to the main capture camera, attaching the camera to the camera
mounting bracket and then completing all the necessary settings on the camera and lens. For the latest information on
lenses and cameras that can be used as main capture camera, please visit your local Canon website.
Attaching a Lens to the Main Capture Camera and Inserting the Recording Media
For details about operating the camera, refer to the instruction manual of the camera used.
1. Attach a lens to the main capture camera.
2. Insert a card with sufficient available space into the main capture cameras card slot.
Inserting a card is required even if you plan to transfer the recorded images to an FTP server. Additionally,
if the card becomes full, images will not be transferred to the FTP server.
Setting Up the Main Capture Camera and Lens
For details about changing the settings on the main capture camera and lens, refer to their respective instruction manuals.
1. Set the lenss focus mode (AF/MF) switch to AF.
2. Set the lenss image stabilizer (STABILIZER) switch to OFF.
3. Turn on the main capture camera.
4. On the main capture camera, select the AF mode and drive mode according to the shooting
conditions.
5. Set MENU > [{ : Image review time] to [Off].
6. Set MENU > [{ : Live View shooting] to [Enable].
7. Set MENU > [B : Auto power off] to [Disable].
8. For the MENU > [ : C.Fn3 Exposure] > [Restrict shooting modes] setting, select an option other
than the custom shooting modes (C1, C2, C3).
Only necessary when the main capture camera is an EOS-1D X Mark II.
9. For the MENU > [ : C.Fn6: Operation] > [Custom Controls] > [Shutter butt. half-press] setting,
assign one of the following functions.
When using the viewfinder, assign [Metering start].
When using an eyepiece camera, assign [Metering and AF start].
10. Set MENU > [ : C.Fn7: Others] > [Shutter release time lag] to [Shortened].
11. To use the FTP transfer function Configure the main capture cameras network settings as
necessary.
