THE HOB : "GAS BURNERS"
The hob of this cooker is fitted with a thermocouple safety device which automatically
shuts off the gas if the flame is extinguished.
USE :
A symbol next to each control knob indicates which burner is ignited.
. Turn on the gas tap.
. Press then turn the knob to the left until the "high flame",
. Press the electric ignition button to produce sparks which in turn ignite the burner.
. Keep the knob pressed for a few seconds, you will start the safety device.
Each burner is controlled by a tap with progressive setting allowing a wider choice of
settings from the maximum position to the slowest and easier flame regulation
according to the pan diameter.
. Set the flame according to your cooking requirements.
Note : If there is a power cut, the burner can be ignited by pressing in and turning the knob
to position "high flame" and holding a naked flame to the burner.
Important :
. When the burners are not being used the mains gas supply valve should be closed.
. To protect the glass lid from damage and in the interests of safety, the burners must be
turned off and the burner area must be cool before closing the lid down.
. When cooking with fats or oils, never leave the hob unattented. Overheated fats or oils
can quickly catch fire.
THE SAUCEPANS :
the hob has various burners with different sizes or gas flows. It is therefore best to take
advantage of these differences.
 Use the most powerful burner to boil liquids, to cook grilled steaks and generally
all foods that must be cooked quickly.
 Use the intermediate burner for stews and sauces.
 Use the small burner for small pans.
THE CHOICE OF PANS
. Pans with curved, ridged or warped bottoms are not recommended.
. To save gas, make sure that the flames do not overlap the bottom of the pan.
. Avoid boiling food too intensely. Food is not cooked any quicker this way. In fact, it is
subjected to severe agitation, which may cause the food to lose some of its flavour.
