a)Open the gas inlet at the cylinder valve and/or regulator
and/or press the regulator firing button if fitted (see regulator
notice) (fig. 13A and B).
b)Push handwheel (B) in in the direction of arrow (A) and place
it on position (Z) ( ); hold it down for 10 seconds.
c)Press the button for the piezo-electric mechanism (P) in the
direction of arrow (C) and check via hole (V) that the safety
pilot light is clearly alight, whilst continuing to hold the control
handwheel (B) down for a further 10 seconds so that the
safety system does not cut the gas supply off.
d)Let the control handwheel (B) go and place it on the heat
function in the desired position (1 ) (2 )
If the safety pilot light goes out, repeat the steps from a) to d).
- Place the handwheel (B) on the OFF position ( ) (by pres-
sing it down lightly to pass position (W).
- Proceed as indicated in the paragraph above, but instead of
pressing the piezo-electric mechanism button (P), use a ligh-
ted match in the hole (V).
- Remove the match as soon as the safety pilot light is alight.
- Air may be present in the gas circuit. This prevents the hea-
ter from lighting at the first attempt. Repeat the lighting pro-
cess several times in this case until the safety pilot light is
alight.
- When the heater is in use, the safety pilot light (V) must
always remain lit to make sure that the flame safety device is
working correctly.
- The burner will turn black after the first use; this is perfectly
normal and in no way reduces its performance.
The heater has two safety devices:
1) The "extinguishing safety device" automatically shuts off the
gas flow to the heater burner if this goes out accidentally.
2) The "tipping safety device" automatically shuts off the flow of
gas to the heater if it is leaning at more than 45° from the ver-
tical or if it has tipped over onto the ground.
- Check that the cylinder valve and/or the regulator lever is in
the off position.
- Raise the cylinder cover so that the gas cylinder is totally free
and unhook the safety belt using the clip (M) (fig. 16).
- Disconnect the regulator from the gas cylinder.
- Remove the gas cylinder from the heater base
- Position the new gas cylinder
- Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder. Check the regula-
tor seal. (Make sure that the regulator seal is installed cor-
rectly and able to fulfil its function).
- Put the safety strap back and lower the cylinder cover right
down.
- Do not obstruct the ventilation ports in the cylinder housing.
- Check the state of the flexible hose.
- Shut down the equipment as indicated in paragraph 3-1-2
- Close the gas inlet (cylinder valve (fig. 13A) and/or regulator
lever (figure 13B)).
- Check that the safety strap is holding the gas cylinder firmly
in its housing.
- Tilt the equipment backwards until supported by the wheels
and move it slowly. (fig. 18)
- Check the state of the flexible hose once a month and repla-
ce it if it shows signs of ageing or surface cracks.
- Replace the flexible hose with a new hose of the same length
and equivalent quality.
- The flexible hose (whether pre-fitted with endpieces or not)
should be replaced according to the timescale indicated
above depending on the country.
- Check for leaks as described in section 2 § 4.
- Check that the gas is shut off on the gas cylinder (cylinder
valve and/or regulator lever in off position).
- Store the heater and its gas cylinder in a cool, dry and venti-
lated area, out of reach of children, and never in a basement
or cellar. The propane gas cylinder should be stored away
from living quarters or their outbuildings. For extended stora-
ge of the heater: remove the cylinder from the heater
- If the injector clogs (the cylinder still contains gas but the hea-
ter does not light), do not attempt to unclog it but take the
heater to your retailer.

unauthorised third parties, (iv) the use of non-original spare
