Operate outside the premises, well away from all inflamma-
ble material and naked flames. Do not smoke. Do not use a
flame to check for a gas leak.
- Make sure that the control handwheel is in the OFF position
- Fit the flexible hose on the heater tailpiece and the regula-
tor without inserting it into the tube.
- Slide the clamping collar on (if required under national
regulations in force) and tighten it on the heater tailpiece
only.
- Make sure there is a seal in good condition on the regula-
tor and fix this to the gas cylinder.
- Open the gas inlet (cylinder valve (fig. 13A) or regulator
lever (fig. 13B)) and press the regulator firing button if fitted
(see regulator notice).
- Place gas leak detector fluid on the cylinder/regulator/flexi-
ble hose/heater connectors leaving the heater control hand-
wheel in the off position.
- Bubbles forming indicate that there is a gas leak.
- To get rid of the leaks, push the flexible hose further in. Do
not use leaking equipment.
- Shut down the gas supply (bottle valve and/or regulator
lever).
- If no leak is detected, remove the flexible hose from the
regulator tailpiece.
- Place the equipment on a table with the gas inlet connector
facing upwards.
- Insert the flexible hose inside the tube and fix the heater
head on the tube (fig. 11).
- Fit the flexible hose to the regulator tailpiece and fix the
clamp if required by national regulations in force. Avoid
twisting the hose and too small radii of curvature (radius lar-
ger than 90 mm)
- Open the gas inlet (cylinder valve (fig. 13A) and/or regula-
tor lever (fig. 13B)) and press the regulator firing button if
fitted (see regulator notice).
- Place gas leak detector fluid on the cylinder/regulator/flexi-
ble hose connectors leaving the heater control handwheel
in the off position.
- Get rid of any leaks as indicated in the previous paragraph.
Do not use leaking equipment.
- Close the gas inlet (cylinder valve and/or regulator lever).
Assemble the canopy on the burner head (fig. 12).
- Read this notice carefully before assembling and using your
heater. Keep it meticulously and consult it whenever neces-
sary.
- Using this heater in totally enclosed premises can be dan-
gerous and is FORBIDDEN.
- The heater must be installed in accordance with the instruc-
tions and local regulations, particularly its installation and
use in premises frequented by the general public.
- Application des Gaz accepts no responsibility for the faulty
installation or use due to the failure to observe the rules
specific to public buildings.
- THIS HEATER SHOULD ONLY BE USED OUTDOORS OR
IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. A ventilated area means
that at least 25% of its total surface area is open.
The total surface area is the sum of the surface area of the
walls.
- Do not store or use petrol or other inflammable liquids or
steam near your heater. No combustible material should be
placed within a 60 cm radius of the heater.
- Do not move the heater during operation and use it on level
ground (slope of less than 10° - fig. 17).
- We advise you to use propane.
- Do not use butane if the temperature is below C.
CAUTION: Some accessible parts (canopy) can be very hot.
Keep young children away.
- The heater can be overturned by strong gusts of wind. Pay
particular attention to the risk of the heater tipping over if
the wind is very strong.
- If you smell gas:
4Close the gas inlet (cylinder valve or regulator lever)
4Extinguish any flame
4If the smell persists, remove the regulator from the cylin-
der, place it outside and inform your cylinder retailer.
The heater must be examined and repaired before being
used again.
- Always shut off the gas at the cylinder valve and/or regula-
tor lever after use.
This heater is designed to function with butane or propane
gas cylinders of 11 kg to 15 kg with the appropriate regula-
tor (see gas and working pressures page 2).
Only use the type of gas and cylinder indicated by the manu-
facturer.
We advise you to use propane as your first choice for the
best possible operation in all weather conditions.
This terrace heater should be used with a 1.25 m flexible
hose intended for use with butane and propane, in accor-
dance with national regulations in force (BS, UNE, UNI,
etc.)
It must be replaced if damaged, shows signs of ageing or
surface cracks. Do not pull or twist it. Keep it away from any
parts likely to become hot.

1) Remove all the parts from the packing and identify them using the attached assembly diagrams.
2) Proceed with the assembly following the order indicated in the illustrations.
