Input-forbindelser (kilde)
Input 1 og 2 på 840 indeholder enten ubalancerede (phono/RCA) eller
balancerede (XLR) tilslutninger. 840E er udviklet til at arbejde ved deres
højeste ydeevne, når der bruges en balanceret forbindelse.
Diagrammerne neden for viser, hvordan 840E forforstærkeren sluttes til
en Azur 840C cd-afspiller i ubalancerede (figur 1) og balancerede (figur
2) konfigurationer. 840E kan også sluttes til kilder med balancerede
output, der ikke er fremstillet af Cambridge Audio.
Balancerede tilslutninger i et lydsystem er udviklet til at afvise elektrisk
støj fra strømledninger osv. – også virkninger af støjstrømme, der flyder
gennem jordforbindelser. Det grundlæggende princip i en balanceret
forbindelse er at få det ønskede signal gennem subtraktion ved hjælp af
en treledningstilslutning. En signalledning (den varme eller ind-fasen)
bærer det normale signal, mens den anden (den kolde eller den
faseinverterede) bærer en inverteret version. Det balancerede input
registrerer forskellen mellem de to linjer for at give det ønskede signal.
Enhver støjspænding, der fremstår identisk på begge linjer (disse kaldes
fællessignaler), annulleres af subtraktionen.
Kontrollér, at kontakten Balanced / Unbalanced (Balanceret /
Ubalanceret) for Input 1 og 2 er indstillet til den tilslutningstype, du
ønsker at bruge.

Synkronisering (styring af On/Standby)
Azur 840E-forforstærkeren kan automatisk styre 840W (hvis du ønsker
det), når den skifter til og fra standby, hvis de er forbundet ved hjælp af
kontrolbusstikkene (kontrolbusstikkene har farvekoden orange på
bagpanelet på kompatible Azur-modeller). Enhederne skal være
forbundet ved hjælp af RCA/phono-kabler for, at denne funktion
fungerer. Yderligere opsætning er ikke nødvendig.
Tilslut kontrolbusudgangen fra 840E til kontrolbusindgangen på 840W.
Fortsæt kæden til andre Azur-modeller, hvis du har brug for at
synkronisere flere enheder (læs mere i brugermanualen til 840E, da
dette kræver yderligere opsætning).

Kontrolbus er den anbefalede metode, når du bruger en 840E og andre
typer udstyr med kontrolbusind-/udgang fra Cambridge Audio.
Trigger-ind- og udgange kan være en fordel, hvis 840W-enheden (og
840E i særdeleshed) skal styres af andet udstyr med Trigger-udgange
(specialinstallationer og/eller flerrumssystemer etc.).
