Properly installed, your Caliber crossover/equalizer will provide years of high quality sonic repro-

duction. Before installing this crossover/equalizer in your vehicle, please read this entire manual

carefully, in order to protect your vehicle, and get the maximum performance of your mobile

sound system.

CALIBER WARRANTY

Due to the complexity of our products, we strongly recommend that this cross-over/equalizer is

installed by your authorized Caliber dealer. If properly installed by your dealer we provide a war-

ranty for 12 month from the date of purchase.

If you install this crossover/equalizer yourself, we wish you lots of fun and succes in doing so. If you

follow our guidelines, you’ll get the best result. Our warranty, however, will be limited to and not

exceed 30 days from the date of purchase.

IMPORTANT

The quality of installation may effect the performance and reliability of a Caliber CXQ 1 cross-

over/equalizer. If you have any doubts or questions regarding installation or use, don’t hesitate to

contact your official Caliber dealer.

FEATURES

This Caliber CXQ 1 is an 1/2 DIN indash crossover/equalizer with no equal.

It features five bands of equalization, sub-woofer level control, front and rear outputs with fader

control, master volume control and power and peak indicators.An electronic crossover controls

the cutoff frequencies for front, rear and sub-woofer outputs. Each output has four selectable set-

tings to match the components you use. Other features include the following:

• Adjustable input sensitivity

•Overload indicator

• Ultra wide bandwidth

• Cut/boost +/- 12dB of center frequencies at 50Hz, 250Hz, 1000Hz and 2500Hz.

• +/- 12dB cut/boost on starting shelf frequency 6500Hz.

• 12dB/Octave front output crossover at 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz or Full

• 12dB/Octave rear output crossover at 80Hz, 100Hz, 150Hz or Full

• Gold plated RCA connectors

• Subwoofer output level control -6dB to +10dB

• LED power indicator

•Pre-amp output level: 7.5V RMS

FRONT PANEL

1. Power on/off indicator. This LED will illuminate when the system is in operation.

2. Peak or clipping indicator.This LED will illuminate when your CXQ 1 is over

loaded or when the signal is clipping.

3. Master volume control. Used to control the system volume whem the source unit is preset

to a specific volume.

4. Fader. Adjusts the proportionate level of the front- and rear outputs.

5. Sub-woofer level control. Adjusts the sub-woofer output level below the crossover

frequency selected.

6. 50Hz. Adjusts the cut of or boost up to 12 dB at 50Hz.

7. 250Hz. Adjusts the cut of or boost up to 12 dB at 250Hz.

8. 1kHz. Adjusts the cut of or boost up to 12 dB at 1000Hz.

9. 2.5kHz. Adjusts the cut of or boost up to 12 dB at 2500Hz.

10. 6.5kHz. Adjusts the cut of or boost up to 12 dB to the 6500Hz shelving equalizer.

TOP PANEL AND CONNECTIONS

A. Input. Docking ports for the RCA connectors arriving from the source unit’s output.

B. Input level control. Input sensitivity level control adjusts to your source unit’s output.

C. Front output. Docking ports for the RCA connectors leading to the front speaker amplifier.

D. Rear output. Docking ports for the RCA connectors leading to the rear speaker amplifier.

E. Subwoofer output. Docking ports for the RCA connectors leading to the subwoofer

amplifier.

F. 3-pin modular socket. (at the back) Contains the power, ground and remote turn-on input.
