3.3.5 Sistema de frenado
El sistema de frenado de un Pedelec se maneja
de manera primaria a través de la palanca de
freno del manillar.
Al accionar la palanca de freno izquierda se
activa el freno de la rueda delantera.
Al accionar la palanca de freno derecha se activa
el freno de la rueda trasera.
Los frenos sirven como parada de emergencia y
aseguran una parada rápida y segura en caso de
emergencia.
La activación del freno a través de la palanca de
freno se realiza
a través de la palanca de freno y el cable de
cambio (freno mecánico) o
a través de la palanca de freno y el cable de freno
hidráulico (freno hidráulico).
3.3.5.1 Freno mecánico
La palanca de freno está conectada con el freno a
través de un hilo en el interior del cable de cambio
(también llamado cable Bowden).

3.3.5.2 Freno hidráulico
En un sistema de tubos cerrado hay líquido de
frenos. Si se acciona la palanca de freno, se
activa el freno en la rueda mediante el líquido de
frenos.
