6.6 Réglage de l’amortisseur arrière

6.6.1 Réglage de la course de suspension négative
La course de suspension négative (« sag ») correspond
à la contraction de l’amortisseur arrière causée par le
poids du cycliste et de son équipement (par ex. sac à
dos), sa position sur la selle et la géométrie du cadre.
Le « sag » n’est pas généré par la conduite. Chaque
cycliste a un poids et une position propres. Le « sag »
dépend de la position et du poids du cycliste et doit se
situer entre 25 % et 30 % de la course de suspension
maximale de l’amortisseur arrière, selon l’utilisation du
vélo et les préférences du cycliste.
Placez le dispositif de réglage de la compression
en position OUVERTE.
Ajustez la pression d’air de l’amortisseur à votre
poids.
Installez une pompe à haute pression sur
l’amortisseur. Comprimez l’amortisseur 10 fois
lentement sur 25 % de la course de suspension
jusqu’à obtenir la pression souhaitée. Ceci
équilibre la pression d’air entre les chambres d’air
positive et négative ; l’affichage de pression sur le
manomètre de la pompe se modifie en
conséquence.
Retirez la pompe à haute pression.
Une pression d’air excessive ou insuffisante dans
l’amortisseur arrière peut causer sa détérioration.
Ne dépassez pas la pression d’air maximale de 350 psi
(24,1 bar). La pression d’air minimale de 50 psi
(3,4 bar) doit être respectée.
