Description
Course de suspension négative (SAG)
La course de suspension négative ou SAG (de
l’anglais sag « abaissement », « affaissement »),
également appelée souplesse de la suspension,
est le pourcentage de la course de suspension
totale qui s’enfonce en raison du poids du corps,
équipement compris (par exemple sac à dos), de
sa position et de la géométrie du cadre. Le sag
n’est pas généré par la conduite. Lorsque le
réglage est optimal, le vélo électrique se détend
avec une vitesse contrôlée. En cas d’irrégularités,
la roue reste en contact avec le sol (ligne bleue).
La tête de fourche, le guidon et le cycliste suivent
le sol (ligne verte) lors du franchissement
d’irrégularités. Le déplacement de la suspension
est prévisible et contrôlé.

Avec un réglage optimal, en terrain vallonné, la
fourche s’oppose à la compression et reste à une
position plus haute dans sa course de
suspension. Ceci permet de conserver plus
facilement sa vitesse lors du franchissement
d’une section de terrain vallonnée.

Avec un réglage optimal, la fourche se compresse
rapidement et sans obstacle lors du
franchissement d’irrégularités et amortit les
irrégularités. La traction est préservée (ligne
bleue).
La fourche réagit rapidement au choc. La tête de
direction et le guidon se relèvent légèrement
lorsque les irrégularités sont amorties (ligne
verte).
