Effectuez la couture, le centre du pied-de-
biche étant aligné sur le milieu de l’espace
séparant les deux pièces de tissu.

À la fin de la couture, retirez le papier et
les points de faufilage.
Points de surjet
Ces points permettent d’assembler des coutures et de
les terminer en une seule opération. Point élastique de
surjet : pour la couture de tissus élastiques.

Mettez le tissu sous le pied-de-biche de
façon à ce que la ligne de la couture (ou la
pointe de la flèche) soit à environ 3 mm
(1/8 po) à gauche du centre du pied-de-
biche.
Ce point est le plus efficace avec une réserve
de couture d’environ 5 mm (3/16 po), car
cela permet au côté droit (zigzag) du point de
surjeter le bord coupé du tissu.

Si la réserve de couture est plus large que le
modèle du point, couper le surplus de tissu
après avoir effectué la couture.
Points plume
Utilisez le point plume comme surpiqûre décorative
lorsque vous brodez ou effectuez des ourlets à des
couvertures, des nappes ou des draperies.

Placez l’endroit du tissu vers le haut et
cousez à 1 cm (1/2 po) du bord du tissu.
