Chilli con carne
Makes 4 serves
150g rindless bacon, roughly chopped
1 large Spanish onion, peeled and quartered
2 cloves garlic, peeled
2 red chilles, trimmed and deseeded
1 tablespoon oil
750g topside steak, cubed
440g can red kidney beans, drained
440g can chopped tomatoes
1 red capsicum, seeded and roughly chopped
1 teaspoon dried tarragon
1
⁄3 cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 cups/500ml red wine
Assemble ikon™ Food Processor using Quad
®
processing blade.
Place bacon, onion, garlic and chilli into the processing bowl. Process until chopped.
Heat oil in a large frypan, add chopped ingredients and cook over medium heat until well
browned.
Place
steak into the processing bowl and process until minced. Add minced steak to frypan, and
stir constantly with other ingredients until well browned. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover
bring to the boil then simmer until sauce thickens.
Serve with jacket potatoes and salad.
