Braun VitalScan 5 is een bloeddrukmonitor die in ontwikkeld om bloeddruk eenvoudig
en precies via de pols te meten. De nauwkeurigheid van Braun VitalScan 5 is in de
fabriek getest en goed bevonden in klinisch onderzoek.
Bloeddrukmetingen bij een gezonde, 31-jarige man, gemeten met tussenpozen van 5
minuten.
Bloeddruk gemeten in de praktijk van een arts, is niet meer dan een momentwaarde.
Herhaalde metingen thuis zijn een veel betere weerspiegeling van iemands
bloeddrukwaarden onder dagelijkse omstandigheden.
Bovendien hebben veel mensen een andere bloeddruk wanneer ze deze thuis meten
omdat ze daar meer ontspannen zijn dan in de praktijk van een arts.
Regelmatig thuis opgenomen bloeddrukmetingen kunnen voor uw arts een
waardevolle informatiebron zijn over uw normale bloeddrukwaarden onder normale,
"alledaagse" omstandigheden.
De Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie en de ESH hebben de volgende standaardbloed-
drukwaarden voorgesteld voor het meten van een polsslag bij rust.
