or moving parts. Always keep your hands away
from the moving parts when using, cleaning or
servicing the appliance.
Heating devices: wait until the appliance has
cooled down before you touch the housing and
parts of the unit.
Be extra careful during cleaning and servicing.
APPLICATION
The kettle may only be used to boil water. The
appliance is not suitable for boiling other liquids.
Use only tap water. Never use carbonated water!
FEATURES
1. Lid opening button
2. Function button
3. On/off button
4. Display window
The kettle has a filter in the spout to stop
limescale particles that have been released. This
filter is non removable.
The temperature is adjustable in 5 steps so that
the correct temperature can be chosen for each
type of tea. A digital display shows the correct
temperature.
The water remains at the set temperature for 24
hours (except when it is boiling.) Then the kettle
switches off automatically.
The display shows the temperature of the water
as long as the kettle is “on”.
PLACEMENT OF THE APPLIANCE
Place the appliance on a stable, level and
spatter-free heat-resistant surface.
Make sure there is enough space around the
appliance for the heat to escape and for sufficient
ventilation.
Do not cover the appliance.
Make sure the kettle does not come into contact
with flammable materials.
Keep the appliance away from heat sources.
Make sure that children have no access to stored
appliances.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The lid of the kettle must be closed during use.
When the lid is not properly closed, the steam
cut-off will not work!
Be careful with hot water and steam so as to
avoid burns.
Only use the base that came with the appliance.
Never take the kettle off the base when it is
switched on.
Only switch the appliance on once the kettle is
filled with sufficient tap water.
Do not move the kettle when it is in use.
Make sure the water level is always between the
minimum and maximum markings (on the inside)
before switching on the appliance. If you exceed
the maximum water level, the kettle will boil
over and hot water could be forcefully sprayed
over the edge.
FIRST USE
Clean the appliance and accessories. See the
section titled “Cleaning”.
Remove the kettle from the base.
Fill the kettle with tap water to the maximum
mark on the inside.
Boil the water. See the section titled “Boiling
water”.
Do not use the water you just boiled for
consumption or anything else. Allow it to cool
and then pour it down the drain.
HEATING AND BOILING WATER
Always remove the appliance from the base
before filling it with tap water.
Fill the kettle with water until the water level is
somewhere between the minimum and maximum
markings.
Close the lid and place the kettle on the base.
Press the on/off switch (3). You will hear a beep.
The kettle is now on stand-by. The kettle can be
switched off at all times by pressing and holding
the on/off switch for 2 seconds.
The desired temperature can now be selected
with the Function switch (2). The kettle starts at
100 degrees and the temperature will decrease
one step with each press. With each press you
will hear a beeping sound.
Once a choice has been made, the heating will
start after 2 seconds and the water will heat up
to the set temperature.
The following choices are available:
100°C – “Boil”. The water is boiling. For infusions,
for example.
90°C – “Black”. For black tea and instant coffee,
for example.
• 80°C – “Green”. For green tea.
• 70°C – “White”. For white tea.
• 40°C – “Warm”. For lukewarm water.
As soon as the set temperature is reached,
you will hear two beeps and this temperature
is maintained automatically for 30 minutes or
until the kettle is switched off. This does not
apply to the “Boil” function (boiling, 100°C). The
kettle switches off when the water is boiling and
remains off until you switch it on again.
