Operation
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Transport Safety (see figure E)
The transport safety-lock 9 enables easier handling of the ma-
chine when transporting to various working locations.
Releasing the Machine (Working Position)
Push the tool arm by the handle 12 down a little in order to
relieve the transport safety-lock 9.
Pull the transport safety-lock 9 completely outward.
Guide the tool arm slowly upward.
Securing the Machine (Transport Position)
Loosen the locking screw 6 if tightened. Pull the tool arm
completely to the front and tighten the locking screw
again.
Screw adjusting screw 40 completely upward.
To lock the saw table 19, tighten the locking knob 22.
Push the locking lever 13 and guide the tool arm slowly
downward with the tool handle 12.
Guide the tool arm downward until the transport safety-
lock 9 can be pushed completely inward.
Preparing for Operation
Extending the Saw Table (see figure F)
Long workpieces must be underlaid or supported at their free
end.
The saw table can be extended left and right with the saw-ta-
ble extensions 28.
Loosen the clamping screw 17.
Pull out the saw-table extension 28 to the desired length.
Retighten the clamping screw 17 to fix the saw-table ex-
tension.
Moving the Fence (see figure G)
When sawing vertical bevel angles, you have to pull the left-
hand or right-hand adjustable fence 2 outward depending on
the cutting direction, or remove it completely.
Clamping the Workpiece (see figure H)
To ensure optimum working safety, the workpiece must al-
ways be firmly clamped.
Do not saw workpieces that are too small to clamp.
Press the workpiece firmly against the fences 2 and 1.
Insert the material clamp 39 provided into one of the holes
30 intended for it.
Loosen the wing bolt 51 and adapt the material clamp to
the workpiece. Tighten the wing bolt again.
Firmly tighten the threaded rod 50, thus fastening the
workpiece.
Adjusting Mitre Angles
To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of the machine
must be checked and adjusted as necessary after intensive
use (see “Checking and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment”,
page 36).
Adjusting Standard Mitre Angles (see figure I1)
For quick and precise adjustment of commonly used mitre an-
gles, detents 26 have been provided for on the saw table:
Loosen the locking knob 22 in case it is tightened.
Pull lever 23 and rotate the saw table 19 left or right to the
requested detent.
Release the lever again. The lever must be felt to engage in
the detent.
Adjusting Any Mitre Angle (see figure I2)
The mitre angle can be set in the range from 52° (left side) to
60° (right side).
Loosen the locking knob 22 in case it is tightened.
Pull lever 23 and at the same time push the locking bracket
21 until it engages in the groove intended for this. The saw
table can be moved freely now.
Turn the saw table 19 left or right by the locking knob until
the angle indicator 25 indicates the requested mitre angle.
For mitre angles greater than 45°:
Pull the saw-table extension 28 completely outward (see
“Extending the Saw Table”, page 34).
Tighten the locking knob 22 again.
To loosen the lever 23 again (for adjusting standard mitre
angles), pull the lever upward.
The locking bracket 21 snaps back to its original position
and lever 23 can re-engage into the detents 26.
Adjusting Bevel Angles
To ensure precise cuts, the basic adjustment of the machine
must be checked and adjusted as necessary after intensive
use (see “Checking and Adjusting the Basic Adjustment”,
page 36).
The vertical bevel angle can be adjusted in a range from 47°
(leftward) to 47° (rightward).
For quick and precise setting of frequently used bevel angles,
stops have been provided for the angles 0°, 47°, 45°, 33.9°
and 22.5°.
With vertical mitre cuts and the use of the SDS bolt 31,
you need to ensure that the SDS bolt can never come in-
to contact with the workpiece surface before sawing.
This is done by setting an appropriate depth stop (see
“Adjusting the Depth Stop”, page 36). This prevents,
that the SDS bolt and / or the workpiece may be damaged.
