uDo not continue to press the On/Off switch after the
power tool has automatically switched off. The battery
can be damaged.
To remove the battery (5), press the release button (6) and
pull the battery back and out of the power tool. Do not use
force to do this.
Battery charge-control indicator
When the on/off switch(4) is pressed in halfway or com-
pletely, the battery charge indicator(8) indicates the bat-
tery's state of charge for a few seconds. It consists of an LED
which lights up in two colours.

A) The battery charge indicator will also flash red if the battery has
overheated or overloaded.
Inserting/changing the saw blade
uWhen fitting or changing the saw blade, wear protect-
ive gloves. Blades are sharp and can become hot when
used for prolonged periods of time.
uTake care not to hold the power tool close to the on/
off switch or by the on/off switch and lock-off button
when changing the saw blade. There is risk of injury
from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
uAvoid contact with the skin when changing a saw
blade and use protective gloves in perfect condition.
The saw blade can become hot when in operation for a
long time.
uDo not pull on the chain and do not pull the chain off
the guide unit.
Always replace a complete saw blade with another complete
saw blade. The chain cannot be replaced on its own.
Selecting the saw blade
Only use saw blades that are suitable for the material you are going to cut. The saw blade should not be longer than required
for the cut you want to make.

Inserting the saw blade (seefigureA)
uUse only clean saw blades. Make sure that the saw
blade receptacle is free of chips and sawdust.
Use the locking lever(10) to open the cover(9) of the saw
blade receptacle. Insert the saw blade as shown in the fig-
ure. Make sure that the drive shaft and the end of the saw
blade fit in the recess on the saw blade receptacle(12).
Close the cover of the saw blade receptacle and lock it with
the locking lever. You should hear the locking lever click into
place.
The chain of the saw blade is tensioned automatically.
If the chain slips through or becomes detached from the
guide unit, open and close the cover(9) of the saw blade re-
ceptacle.
Removing the saw blade
Open the locking lever(10) fully open the cover(9) of the
saw blade receptacle. Remove the saw blade.
Dust/Chip Extraction
Dust from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some
wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to one’s
health. Touching or breathing-in the dust can cause allergic
reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or
bystanders.
Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust, is considered carci-
nogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment ad-
ditives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the ma-
terials to be worked.
uAvoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
easily ignite.

Note: The use of batteries unsuitable for your power tool can
lead to malfunctions or damage to the power tool.
Insert the charged battery(5) into the battery receptacle un-
til you feel it engage and it is securely locked in place.
Switching on/off
To switch on the power tool, press the lock-off button(3) to
the left or right. Then press the on/off switch (4) and keep it
pressed.
Once the power tool is switched on, you can release the lock-
off button(3).
To switch off the power tool, release the on/off switch (4).
