3.4 Making the electrical connection
The following must be observed for the electrical connection:
Make the electrical connection in accordance with the applicable
standards in the relevant country (Germany: VDE 0100).
Observe the connection diagrams of all connected appliances and
accessories.
Only use the electrical connection to the condensate pump to supply
power to the condensate pump.
Check whether the earth resistance is lower than 38 Ω.
Protect the condensate pump via an RCD with a rated response
current of not more than 30 mA.
The condensate pump power plug must be easily accessible.
B Plug the condensate pump into an earthed socket.
3.5 Checking the function
Operational description
The condensate pump contains a pump. The condensate pump tank is
equipped with a float switch that controls the pump operation. The
pump starts as soon as condensate enters the condensate pump.
The float switch turns the pump on and off.
If a fault indication system is connected:
The fault indication system is triggered if there is an unusually high
water level.
To protect the electronic switching components of the condensate
pump, the water, that continues to runs into the tank after the fault
indication has been triggered, is drained off via the overflow device in
the cover.
Checking the function of the pump and float switch
B Fill the condensate pump with water until the pump starts.
B Check whether water is pumped away when the pump is operational.
B Check whether the pump shuts down.
Checking the function of the fault indication system
B Fill with water until the fault indication is triggered.
B Check whether the fault indication system triggers the function of the
connected component (Æ chapter 3.3, page 13).
B Stop filling with water.
B Check whether water is pumped away when the pump is operational.
B Check whether the pump shuts down.
B Check whether the fault indication system reverts to standard
operation.
The condensate pump functions OK.
If a fault occurs
B Locate and remedy the fault.
3.6 Troubleshooting
DANGER: Risk to life from electric shock!
Never open the condensate pump as long as it is
connected to the mains.
B All electrical work must be carried out by an
electrician.
B Before starting electrical work, isolate all poles and
secure against unintentional reconnection.
Check the condensate pump for function at least once
per year.
What triggers the fault indication system varies
depending on the connection version installed
(Æ chapter 3.3, page 13).
