Safety Instructions
Warning! Read these instructions carefully and save
them. Be familiar with the controls and the proper
use of the hedgetrimmer. When using electric or
battery tools, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock and personal injury.
Explanation of symbols on the hedgetrimmer
Read instructions carefully.
Do not use the hedgecutter in the rain or leave it out-
doors when it is raining.
Remove battery before adjusting or cleaning, and
before leaving the hedgetrimmer unattended for any
period.
Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these in-
structions to use the hedgetrimmer. Local regulations may
restrict the age of the operator.
Never cut a hedge while people, especially children or pets
are nearby.
The operator or user is responsible for accidents or haz-
ards occurring to other people or their property.
Do not operate the hedgetrimmer when barefoot or wear-
ing open sandals, always wear substantial footwear and
long trousers. The use of sturdy gloves, non-skid footwear
and safety glasses is recommended. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery which can be caught in moving parts.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the hedgetrimmer is
to be used and remove all wires and other foreign objects.
Before using, always visually inspect to see that the cutter
blades, blade bolts and cutter assembly are not worn or
damaged.
Know how to stop the hedgetrimmer quickly in an emer-
gency.
Cut a hedge only in daylight or in good artificial light.
Never operate the hedgetrimmer with defective guards or
without the guard in place.
Always ensure all handles and guards supplied are fitted
when using the hedgetrimmer. Never attempt to use an
incomplete hedgecutter or one with an unauthorised modi-
fication.
Where a hedgetrimmer is provided with more than one
handle always use two hands to operate it.
Never hold the hedgetrimmer by the guard.
While operating the hedgetrimmer always be sure of a safe
and secure operating position especially when using steps
or a ladder.
Remove the battery:
when storing the unit or leaving unattended.
before checking, clearing a blockage or working on
the hedgetrimmer;
after striking a foreign object. Inspect the hedgetrimmer
for damage and make repairs as necessary;
if the hedgetrimmer starts to vibrate abnormally (check
immediately).
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that the
hedgetrimmer is always in a safe working condition.
After use the appliance should be stored so that the blade
is not exposed - use the blade guard.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
Do not attempt to repair the appliance unless you are quali-
fied to do so.
Ensure that only Bosch Approved replacement parts are
fitted.
Do not charge or use machines in gaseous explosive at-
mospheres.
Incorrect use may result in an electric shock or overheat-
ing.
Always charge the battery indoors in a well ventilated area
where it is dry and protected from the weather.
Only charge the battery with the charger supplied for this
hedgetrimmer.
Warning! Do not charge non-chargeable batteries.
Disconnect the charger from the power supply before con-
nections to the battery are undertaken.
Do not use the charger for any other purpose, other than
that of charging this hedgetrimmer battery.
Do not short battery terminals.
