Startup / Operation
Before initial use
Cean the hob thoroughly. Use a cloth with warm wa-
ter and a little special cleaner for glass ceramic hobs.
Be sure to follow the instructions in the
"Cleaning and
maintenance"
section.
Functional principle
When cooking with induction, heat is only generated
by magnetic forces when cookware with a magnetiz-
able base is placed on a switched-on hob. Only the
base of the cookware is heated, not the hob itself.
Advantages: time saving, energy saving, easy clean-
ing, controlled heat supply and safety.
Selecting appropriate cookware
CAUTION:
The cooking surface and the base of the cookware
must always be clean and dry.
Cookware made of magnetizable material is required
for induction hobs. Cookware labelled "suitable for in-
duction hobs".
In principle, you can use all cookware containing
iron. A quick test will show you whether they are suit-
able or not:
Place the cookware in question with some water.
If the display shows [ ], the cookware is unsuita-
ble for induction cooking.
Do not use cookware made of conventional (non-
magnetic) stainless steel, glass, ceramic, copper or
aluminum.
Wrong!
Cookware is too small.
Heat loss!
Cookware ground uneven.
Poor heat transfer!
Lid does not close properly.
Heat loss!
Correct! To save time and energy!
Diameter of the cookware corresponds
with the diameter of the hob.
The cookware base is fully resting, and the lid closes
properly.
Pot detection
The heating function is interrupted if:
- cookware of an unsuitable size or
- non-magnetic material is used,
- there is a foreign object on the hob or
- the cookware has been removed.
The [ ] indicator flashes on the display.
If suitable cookware is not placed on the hob within
one minute, the hob switches to standby mode. The
appliance switches off automatically after approx. an-
other minute.
Correct operation of the sensor buttons
The appliance is operated via touch buttons at the
control panel.
The buttons react to the slightest touch. You do
not need to apply any pressure.
