Maximumsnelheid met
terreinbanden
De voor de motorfiets aan-
gegeven topsnelheid kan
hoger zijn dan de voor de ban-
den toegestane maximum snel-
heid. Te hoge snelheden kunnen
bandbeschadigingen en daarmee
ongevallen tot gevolg hebben.
De voor de banden toegestane
maximum snelheid in acht
nemen.
Bij terreinbanden moet de maxi-
maal toelaatbare snelheid voor de
band in acht worden genomen.
Sticker met de maximaal toelaat-
bare snelheid in het gezichtsveld
aanbrengen.
Kans op vergiftiging
Uitlaatgassen bevatten het kleur-
en geurloze maar giftige koolmo-
noxide.
Het inademen van uitlaat-
gassen is schadelijk voor de
gezondheid en kan tot bewuste-
loosheid of zelfs de dood leiden.
Uitlaatgassen niet inademen.
De motor niet in een afgesloten
ruimte laten draaien.
Verbrandingsgevaar
Tijdens het rijden worden
de motor en het uitlaat-
systeem zeer heet. Er bestaat
verbrandingsgevaar bij aanraking,
vooral van de uitlaatdempers.
Na het afzetten van de motor-
fiets erop letten dat niemand
de motor en het uitlaatsysteem
aanraakt.
Katalysator
Als door overslaan van de motor
onverbrande benzine in de kata-
lysator terechtkomt, is er kans op
oververhitting en beschadiging.
Neem daarom de volgende pun-
ten in acht:
Benzinetank niet leegrijden
De motor nooit met een los-
getrokken bougiestekker laten
draaien
Als de motor afslaat direct het
contact uitschakelen
Alleen loodvrije benzine tanken
Houd de voorgeschreven on-
derhoudsbeurten beslist aan.
Onverbrande benzine be-
schadigt de katalysator on-
herstelbaar.
De aangegeven punten ter be-
scherming van de katalysator in
acht nemen.
Gevaar voor oververhitting
Als de motor langere tijd
stationair draait zonder dat
wordt gereden, is de koeling on-
toereikend en kan de motor over-
verhit raken. In extreme gevallen
kan de motorfiets in brand vlie-
gen.
De motor niet onnodig stationair
