Connecting a vacuum cleaner to the tool (fig. E & F)
Align the dust extraction adaptor (10) with the saw shoe
as shown.
Insert the ribs (18) into the slots (19).
Rotate the adaptor until it locks into position. Make sure
that the ribs (20) are correctly seated.
Connect the vacuum cleaner hose (21) (not supplied) to
the adaptor.
Dust extraction is not possible when making bevel cuts.
Use
Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do not overload.
Warning! Never use the tool when the saw shoe is loose or
removed.
Charging the battery (fig. A)
The battery needs to be charged before first use and
whenever it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs that were
easily done before. When charging the battery for the first
time, or after prolonged storage, it will only accept an 80%
charge. After several charge and discharge cycles, the battery
will attain full capacity. The battery may become warm while
charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures
below 4 °C or above 40 °C. Recommended charging
temperature: approx. 24 °C.
Using the 3 hr charger
To charge the battery (11), remove it from the tool and
slide the charger receptacle (13) onto the battery.
Plug in the charger (12).
The battery will become warm while charging. After approx.
3 hours of charging, the battery will be sufficiently charged for
use in regular applications. After approx. 6 hours of charging,
the battery will be fully charged.
Remove the charger receptacle from the battery.
Using the 1hr charger
To charge the battery (11), remove it from the tool and
insert it into the charger (12). The battery will only fit into
the charger in one way. Do not force. Be sure that the
battery is fully seated in the charger.
Plug in the charger.
Check if the charging indicator is red. If the charging
indicator lights up green, the battery is either fully charged
or too hot and cannot be charged. If this happens, remove
the battery from the charger, let the battery cool down for
approx. 1 hour and re-insert it.
After approx. 1 hour of charging, the charging indicator will
change colour from red to green. The battery is now fully charged.
Remove the battery from the charger.
Adjusting the shoe plate for bevel cuts (fig. G)
The shoe plate can be set to a left or right bevel angle of up to
45°.
Turn the locking knob (8) in direction A to release the shoe
plate (7).
Pull the shoe plate (7) backwards and set it to the required
angle. You can use the scale or a protractor to check the
angle.
Turn the locking knob (8) in direction B to lock the shoe
plate in place.
To reset the shoe plate for straight cuts:
Turn the locking knob (8) in direction A to release the shoe
plate (7).
Pull the shoe plate backwards and set it to an angle of
approx. 0°.
Push the shoe plate forward.
Turn the locking knob (8) in direction B to lock the shoe
plate in place. Make sure that the shoe plate is supported
by the guide ribs.
Orbital action turbo selector
For fast and efficient straight cuts in wood, set the orbital
action turbo selector (3) to "max".
For accurate straight and curve cutting and a smooth
surface finish, set the orbital action turbo selector (3) to
"min".
For a moderate speed of cut and finish, set the orbital
action turbo selector (3) to the middle position between
"max" and "min".
Note: Oribital action is not recommended when scrolling.
Switching on and off
To switch the tool on, press the on/off switch (1). The tool
speed depends on how far you press the switch.
How to use the SightLine™ feature (fig. E)
Use a pencil to mark the cutting line.
Position the jigsaw over the line (17).
Viewing from directly above the jigsaw the line of cut can be
easily followed. Should this view be restricted for any reason,
the indent (18) can be used as an alternate cutting guide.
