Why is it important that we drink enough water?
The human body consists of approx� 60% water� Water acts as an important means of transport in our body;
this is why it is important that we drink enough water� Our fluid balance ensures that blood flows in the body,
the body temperature is regulated and toxins are expelled via urine� If we drink too little, our physical and men

tal performance is reduced and cramps, circulatory problems and headaches are more likely to occur�
The German Nutrition Society recommends the following standard values for water intake for young people
and adults (with appropriate energy intake and average living conditions)�
