4. Rinse the inside of the boiler with hot water.
5. Clean the base and the outside of the boiler with a damp cloth.
6. Dry the parts thoroughly.
7. Keep the appliance in a dry place.
WARNING:
• Verify that the appliance is not connected to the power supply before you start to clean it.
• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning products or sharp objects (such as a knife or a hard brush)
to clean the appliance.
• Never immerse the base in water or in other liquids.
• The appliance and its parts are not dishwasher-proof.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE - Descaling
Limescale will form in the appliance, especially in areas with hard water. This blocks the filters and pipes
inside the appliance. Therefore, descale the appliance regularly.
1. Fill the boiler with descaler up to the pressure release valve. Note: use a substance that is specially
meant for espresso appliances. Do not use any vinegar-based substances. This can damage the seal
in the bottom of the coffee carafe.
2. First run the appliance once with only descaler and no coffee. See ‘Brewing espresso’.
3. Rinse the coffee carafe, the coffee holder and the boiler thoroughly with hot water.
4. Let the appliance run a few times with only water and no coffee. See ‘Brewing espresso’.
5. Clean the appliance. See “Cleaning and maintenance - Cleaning after use”.
WARNING:
• If by descaling the coffee-colored layer in your carafe dissipates or becomes too affected, repeat the
steps described under “Function - Before first use”.
