operation of the device.
Read through this chapter carefully before operating the
device.
Follow the safety instructions.
yOperation only by authorised users.
D“1.2 Authorised target groups” (page 4).
yNot to be operated by children under 8 years old or
people who cannot assess the hazards of handling the
device.
yThe extractor hood must not be operated unsupervised.
yDo not use during a fire or when there is an imminent
danger of fire (e.g. a smell of gas).

the edge of the base of the pots). Naked flames can
damage the device and can cause fires.
yDo not flambé underneath the device. Fire hazard.

y In recirculated air mode:
Do not cover the air outlets (e.g. glasses/plates on or in

able to escape through the ventilation slots without
impediment. Otherwise backpressure may form. If the
cooking vapours are no longer able to escape there is a
danger of fire.
yWith exhausted air or hybrid operation:
Adequate fresh air supply must be assured.
Measures to ensure a sufficient supply of fresh air:
Open the windows.
Open the doors.
Ensure that the window contact switch and the wall box
are installed and ready for operation.
With heating points which use air from the room as their
oxygen supply (e.g. chimneys):
Make sure that the mandated safety devices are
functioning correctly.
Cooking oils and fats have different smoke points. The smoke
point is the temperature at which smoke clearly develops
over the hot oil or fat. The smoke can settle on furniture, the
fronts of kitchen units and the ceiling.
Be aware of the smoke point of the cooking oil or fat
you are using. You can obtain this information from the
respective manufacturer.
If you switch the machine on and hear an unusually loud fan
noise:
Clean the device.
Follow the cleaning instructions.
D“5. Cleaning” (page 26).
If you switch the machine on and notice a smell:

If the control indicator for the filter filling flashes:
Change the filter filling.
