4. Operation
4.1 Safety information for operation
DWARNING!
Hazard through a disregard of the operating
instructions!
This chapter contains important information for the safe
operation of the device.
Read through this chapter carefully before operating the
device.
Follow the safety instructions.
yOperation only by authorised users.
D“1.2 Authorised target groups” (page 4).
yNo operation permitted by children under 8 years old and
persons who would not be able to properly assess the
hazards associated with handling the device.
yThe device must not be operated unsupervised.
yDo not use during a fire or when there is an imminent
danger of fire (e.g. a smell of gas).
yGas operation only with low gas flames (not rising above
the edge of the base of the pots). Naked flames can
damage the device and can cause fires.
yDo not flambé underneath the device. Fire hazard.
yNo unattended deep frying underneath the device.
yWhen in use, the hob and other parts that could be
touched can become very hot. There is a risk of burning.
yGrease residues should be removed. Grease residues pose
a fire hazard.
yNo moisture in the device. Avoid dripping or splashing
water.
y Do not set objects (e.g. vases, bottles) down on the
device.
yIf available, objects may be placed on the side shelves.
The unit may be loaded with a maximum of 8 kg (4 kg
per side). Do not impede the air flow.
yUse only when the Capillar Trap is fitted and with the
lower section closed.
yDo not cover the air outlets on the device. Out-flowing
air must be able to escape through the ventilation slots
without impediment. Otherwise backpressure may form.
If the cooking vapours are no longer able to escape there
is a danger of fire.
Measures to ensure a sufficient supply of fresh air:
Open the windows.
Open the doors.
Ensure that the window contact switch and the wall box
are installed and ready for operation.
With heating points which use air from the room as their
oxygen supply (e.g. chimneys):
Make sure that the mandated safety devices are
functioning correctly.
Cooking oils and fats have different smoke points. The smoke
point is the temperature at which smoke clearly develops
over the hot oil or fat. The smoke can settle on furniture, the
fronts of kitchen units and the ceiling.
Be aware of the smoke point of the cooking oil or fat
you are using. You can obtain this information from the
respective manufacturer.
The fan is only active if the device is driven down at least
100 mm.
yWhen the device moves up and the distance from the top
end position is less than 100 mm, the fan switches off.
yWhen the device is in the top end position and the fan is
switched on, the device drives down 100 mm.
4.2 Operating the device
The device is controlled via the battery-operated BFB 6bT
remote control.
Observe the instruction manual for the remote control.
The “Power level 3” and “Hob lighting” functions can also be
operated using additional buttons on the underside of the
device.

connected once.
Press the two additional buttons on the unit
simultaneously (> 3 sec.).
