BEDIENUNG DER BREMSE
Bei ungenügender Bodenhaftung verlängert sich der Bremsweg und die Reifen können blockieren, z. B. bei Frost,
Regen, sandigen Wegen oder wenn Laub auf dem Fahrweg liegt.
• Erklären Sie Ihrem Kind, dass es seine Fahrweise auf die Beschaffenheit des Fahrwegs einstellen muss.
• Erklären Sie Ihrem Kind, dass es bei ungenügender Bodenhaftung langsam fahren muss.
• Erklären Sie Ihrem Kind, dass es möglichst so bremst, dass die Räder (speziell das Vorderrad) nicht
blockieren.
• Erklären Sie Ihrem Kind, dass bei zu starker Betätigung der Vorderradbremse das Hinterrad abheben und
es sogar zu einem Überschlag kommen kann.
Das Hinterrad blockiert bei gleicher Bremskraft früher als das Vorderrad.
BETÄTIGEN DER BREMSEN
• Ziehen Sie zum Bremsen den Handbremshebel mit den Fingern in Richtung des Lenkers.
• Regulieren Sie die Bremskraft mit der Kraft, mit der Sie den Handbremshebel ziehen.
• Um die Bremse zu lösen, lassen Sie den Handbremshebel los.

Die Vorderradbremse wird bei einem BEN-E-BIKE mit dem linken Hebel betätigt, die Hinterradbremse mit
dem rechten Hebel.
BEDIENUNG DER GANGSCHALTUNG
Ablenkung und falsches Schaltverhalten kann zu Unfällen im Straßenverkehr führen.
• Machen Sie sich und Ihr Kind mit der Funktion der Gangschaltung vertraut (siehe Kapitel „Vor der ersten
Fahrt“).
• Erklären Sie Ihrem Kind, dass es die Gangschaltung nur bedienen darf, wenn seine Aufmerksamkeit für den
Straßenverkehr dadurch nicht eingeschränkt wird.
Durch falsche Bedienung der Gangschaltung kann diese beschädigt werden.
