Minivans, SUVs, and most hatchbacks
Leave the trunk tube attached to the lower
frame and set the

angle slightly upward from the rear. On these
vehicles the trunk tube remains clipped in a
lower position out of the way.
2. Attach top straps ‘U’ to leading metal
edge of trunk or hatch lid. Adjust the straps
so the rack stays in place on the car with
bicycle support arms angled slightly up from
horizontal. Figure C. Check that the carrier
is centered on your vehicle – adjust to center
as needed.
3. Attach lower straps ‘L’ to the bottom metal
edge of trunk or hatch lid, under the bumper,
or to the frame of the vehicle. Tension slightly.
Figure D.
4. Attach side
straps (7016046
and 7020149
only) ‘S’ to the
metal edge of the
trunk or hatch lid.
Tighten the side
straps. This will
also tighten the bottom straps. Figure E.
5. Tighten top straps while pushing forward
slightly on the rack. Figure F.
6. Check the arm position – they should angle
upward from the horizontal. Readjust lower and
upper straps if necessary. Tighten all straps one
