2. ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE USE
Adjusting the height of the shoulder straps
To ensure that they offer maximum protection, the shoulder straps on the ZERO safety seat
must be set just above the baby’s shoulders. Check this height with the baby seated correctly
in the safety seat.
2a.- ZERO has 3 heights for the shoulder straps. To change the position, open the cover of
the rear compartment.
2b.- Take the straps out of the current slot and pass them through the correct one for your
baby’s height.
WARNING Check and adjust the height of the shoulder straps as the baby grows.
CHANGING THE POSITION OF THE HANDLE
The handle has 4 positions (2c), each of which has a specific function:
Position 1: Stability. The handle prevents the baby carrier from rocking when it is on a flat
surface.
Position 2: Intermediate position. In this position, the handle is integrated into the casing.
Position 3: Carrying. The position for fitting and removing the seat on and off a BE COOL
chassis or the ISOfix base and for carrying.
Position 4: AUTO. Non-rollover position when travelling in the car.
To change the position, press both buttons (10) on the handle (2d) and turn the handle to the
required position.
Choosing where to install the safety seat
Choosing the right place where you want to install the safety seat in the car will reduce the
risk of injury to your baby in the event of an accident.
As far as possible, install the safety seat on the back seats. We strongly recommend that the
baby is accompanied by someone sitting next to them to take care of their every need. Of the
three back seats, the middle one is the safest.
If you are travelling alone with your baby, it is good if you can see them without having to take
your eyes off the road. Put them in the passenger seat providing that it is NOT fitted with
an Air-Bag or IT IS DISCONNECTED. Under no circumstances allow yourself to be distracted
from the road to see to your baby.
Stop the car in a safe place.
Suitability of the place chosen for installing the
ZERO
European standards establish the compatibility
parameters between safety seats and vehicles,
however, you do need to check a few things
before installing the safety seat for the first time:
1 The seat belt buckles should not be resting on
hard edges, as in the event of an accident this will
decrease their resistance. With the ZERO in your
vehicle check that the buckle does not rest on the
corner of the baby carrier. If in doubt, consult your
vehicle manufacturer.
2 If the seat belt is short:
a. In most vehicles, the height of the shoulder
belt can be adjusted, adjust it to the lowest
position.
b. If the vehicle seat can be moved, move it
backwards.
