TECHNIQUE / MODEL A
1. Remove the covering cap by pulling
it upwards at the back (15).
2. Loosen the expander bolt by turning
it a few turns (use a hammer with a
plastic head) with the accompanying 6
mm hexagonal key (10).
3. Place the stem and/or the steering pin
in the required position or at the right
height. Tighten the bolt fi rmly again
(see the table of tightening torques).
4. If the position of the stem has been
changed, the handlebars will probably
need adjusting too. Loosen the clam-
ping bolt slightly more than one turn
(11). Turn the steering tube and tighten
the bolt again fi rmly.
5. Check whether the brake and gear
cables are not too tight now you have
altered the position of the handlebars.
The braking, gear shifting and steering
behaviour of the bicycle may be affec-
ted as a result.
6. Before you go cycling (again), check
the brakes and gear shifting; replace
the covering cap and exert pressure
until it closes with a ‘click’.
TECHNIQUE / MODEL B
This steering pin (8) can be raised or
lowered by loosening the steering
pin bolt in the same way as for model
A. The position of the stem can be
changed by loosening the recessed
head screw in the middle of the stem.
TECHNIQUE / MODEL C / ERGO MATIC
This steering pin is called the Ergo
Matic (9) and it works with a lever
which can turn 135°.
If your model has one of these levers, it
is not necessary to loosen the recessed-
head screw fi rst. You can simply unclick
the lever so that it is loose, turn it to
the right and then place the steering
pin in the desired position. Return the
lever and click it back into position.
TECHNIQUE / MODEL D / BATAVUS
ERGO MATIC PLUS
The Batavus Ergo Matic Plus adjustable
steering pin enables you to adjust the
position of your handlebars very easily.
The wireless bicycle computer type
FC650 can be mounted on the Batavus
Ergo Matic Plus adjustable steering pin
as an extra enhancement.
