• Door een te sterke schoorsteen-trek.
De verbrandingslucht komt niet bij de brandstof terecht maar verlaat het
toestel via de schoorsteen. Het vuur koelt af en ook de verbrandingskwaliteit
neemt af.
• Door te veel hout te gebruiken.
Dit komt voor als een te kleine inbouwhaard gekozen is. De inbouwhaard
wordt dan overbeladen en er verbrandt nu meer hout dan er lucht toegevoerd
wordt. Ook in dit geval kan de brandstof niet volledig verbranden. Er is
immers niet genoeg lucht om met de vlammen te mengen. Ook nu wordt het
milieu extra belast.
• Door veel lucht onder de brandstof toe te voeren (verbrandingsluchttoevoer-
schuif staat geheel in de positie: “ + ”).
De verbranding wordt hierdoor sterk opgejaagd (smidsvuur-achtig).
Verbranding heeft echter tijd nodig. Bij een felle verbranding is er onvoldoende
tijd om in de inbouwhaard alle warmte af te geven.
De schoorsteen zal erg heet worden en eveneens de naar buiten gaande
rook. Deze warmte gaat dus verloren.
