El aparato produce aire frío, que al ser más pesado que el aire caliente,
desciende lentamente. Esto crea presión y expulsa el aire a través del
orificio situado en la parte inferior.
El compresor, cuando funciona, calienta y hace evaporarse el agua de
condensación. El aire caliente sube y este aire húmero es aspirado por el
filtro de carbón.
En contacto con el evaporador, la humedad del aire es aspirada en forma
de escarcha. En el momento en que se detiene el compresor, la
temperatura interior vuelve a subir y la escarcha se funde lentamente. Se
produce la condensación.
El exceso de condensación es recogido por la bandeja. En el momento en
que se reinicia el compresor, se reinicia el circuito cerrado de la circulación
de aire.
