IMPORTANT: Incorrectly assembled stems or damaged handlebars can lead to dangerous
driving situations and downfalls! Therefore check whether the handlebar is tight (by jerk for-
ward & through pressure at fully pulled brake levers), while the headset must not have a slack
or cracking noise, but the steering system must go easy, without lock.
Approve: Clamp the front wheel between your legs and try to turn the handlebar. The steering is
o.k., when the bar remains in a fixed position and no creaking or cracking noises occur.
Pedals
Screw the right pedal ("R") by turning the pedal axle clockwise in the right crank (pictures
below) and the left pedal (code "L") by turning the pedal axle counterclockwise into the
opening of the left crank (always seen in the direction of travel). At the end pull the pedal axle
hand tight with a wrench.
IMPORTANT: Loose or faulty bolted pedals may result in dangerous driving situations or
downfalls. In any case, faulty or improperly installed pedals need to be replaced.
Saddle and seating position
1. First open the quick release lever on the seat tube and if necessary turn the locking screw
counterclockwise to loosen the seat clamp (fig. 1)
2. Insert the seatpost into the seat tube (fig. 2), to a position in which you are sitting
comfortably while pedaling and also check, if your feet can reach the ground. Be aware of
the labels ‘min.’ and max. insert’. The markings must not be exceeded (otherwise you run
into the risk of a seatpost breakage)
3. Turn the clamping screw to an extent, where the quick release encloses the seatpost well
and the seating position is fixed (fig. 3). Check with both hands, whether the seat cannot
be twisted any more
4. If necessary, adjust the inclination of the seat position by loosening and tightening the
screws at the saddle sole
