Troubleshooting
• Amplier does not power up.
• Check the ground connection.
• Check whether the remote DC terminal has at least 10V DC applied.
• Check for battery power on the + terminal.
• Check all fuses.
• If protection LED is lit, shut o the amplier and power it up a bit later again.
• High hiss or engine noise in speakers.
• Dismiss all connections one after another to identify the fault.
• Set the amplier input level as insensitive as possible. Drive a relatively high signal from the head
unit rather than turning the amp‘s input gain too far up.
• „Protection“ LED comes on when the amplier is powered up.
• Check for shorts on speaker leads.
• Check for the volume control on the head unit (should be turned down at powering up).
• Remove speaker leads and reset the amplier. If the protection LED still comes on, the device
might be defective.
• The amp will shut down automatically when the unit‘s temperature reaches 85°C
• Device gets very hot.
• Check that the minimum speaker impedance for that model is correct.
• Check for speaker shorts.
• Check for good airow around the amplier . ln some applications, an external cooling fan may
be required.
• Sound is distorted
• Checkthat the Level control‘ s is set to match the signal level of the head unit.
• Checkthatall crossover frequencies have been properly set .
• Check for shorts on the speaker Ieads.
• High squeal noise from the speakers
• Thls is always caused by a poorly grounded RCApatch cord.
