Warnings for Batteries and Chargers
e
Don't connect together (short circuit) the battery terminals: this may cause fire, burns or
explosions.
Never dispose batteries into fire. They may explode causing fire, burns or explosions.
Strictly follow any disposal regulation of your Country.
Use only genuine batteries and charge them with the base only. The use of non genuine
accessories may cause burns, fire or explosions; making serious damages to the unit/bat-
teries or serious injuries to people.
Don't expose batteries directly to temperatures below -20°C or greater than 35°C during their
use and don't charge them outside the range of +5 to +55°C.
Out of Range Indication
The bars at the right of the signal strength icon continuously
show the signal strength received from the base. If you are too far from
the base, the radio signal might become too weak and the phone might
not access the telephone line. In these conditions you can't make or
receive phone calls, for this reason, the signal strength icon blinks on
the display.
If you carry the handset too far from the base during a call, the telephone line disconnects and the
handset returns to Standby mode. Check to see if the signal strength icon is blinking on the dis-
play. If so, move the handset closer to the base.
If the radio coverage of your base is not sufficient for your purpose, you might consider to buy an
additional COMfortel DECT 650C and register your handsets on both base units, obtaining a small
personal cordless network. For further details please see chapter Setting Display on page 127 and
chapter Base Selection on page 136.
Locking Keypad Handset
This function is useful to avoid unwanted function activations by accidentally pressing any keys
when you are carrying your handset. If you activate the key lock, the keys are inhibited.
In this condition, when a call comes in, you can answer the call by pressing any key. When the call
ends, the keys will be locked again.
To lock the keys, in the Standby mode just keep the star key pressed till the display shows
the key lock icon .
To unlock the keys keep the star key pressed again till the key lock icon disappears
from the display.
If you switch the handset off and on again, the key lock is automatically disabled.
