3.6 Logging on a mobile unit to a base station
Before you can use your new mobile unit on your existing telephone
system, the mobile unit must be logged on to the base station. The
telephone works according to the internationally adopted DECT-GAP
standard. However, it cannot be guaranteed that the full range of
functions will be available on all possible base stations.
1. Look in the operating instructions for your existing telephone to
find out how to prepare the base station for logging on new mobile
units. When you have made the necessary entries, continue with
Item 2.
2. Press the button as often as necessary until you see the
message REGISTER in the display.
3. Now press the button. The display will show PIN?
4. Now enter the PIN code of your base station. You will find the
necessary PIN code in the operating instructions for your existing
telephone.
5. Confirm the entry with the button. The display will show SET
BASIS and SUCHEN (SEARCH).
6. As soon as the mobile unit has found the base station, the display
will show the message GEFUNDEN (FOUND). The new mobile
unit is now logged on and can be used for external and internal
calls.
7. An internal number will now be automatically assigned to the
mobile unit. This internal number may be shown in the display
(Example MOBILT 2). The main mobile unit already logged on has
the internal number 1. All further mobile units that are logged on
will be numbered in the sequence in which they were logged on
(internal phone numbers 2 to max. 6).
Note: The display does not normally show the number of the mobile
unit. In this case, the internal number for the new mobile unit cannot be
seen. As the internal telephone numbers are assigned in the sequence
in which they are logged on to your base station, it is easy to work out
which number the new mobile unit has been given.
