your telephone network provider to ensure this feature is enabled on your tele-
phone connection. In order to use the SMS
2
service, it must be activated by
your telephone network provider.
S A text cannot be sent from every private branch exchange extension.
If you want to send SMS text messages from a private branch ex-
change extension, it is necessary to store the public access code for
your PBX in the handset preceding the Service Centre number.
S Sending SMS messages is not available for Call−by−Call connections at
present.
S Charges are made for sending SMS texts.
S If the recipient in the conventional telephone network does not use an SMS
service or his telephone is not basically equipped to handle SMS
messages, the SMS is automatically converted to a voice message.
S Costs are charged by your telephone network provider.
SMS messages received are saved in the base station. As a result, SMS mes-
sages can be read, written or transferred from each handset. When several
handsets are used, only one handset at a time can access the SMS service.
A maximum of 15 incoming SMS text messages can be stored. If the Inbox
memory is full, the corresponding message appears in the display. Delete mes-
sages to create memory space. In addition, 5 messages can be saved in the
Outbox memory and 5 in the Drafts memory. When these memories are full, the
oldest entry is overwritten as a new entry is saved.
SMS service centre
SMS messages are distributed via a Service Centre. If you want to send SMS
text messages, you must program a service centre number in your handset;

vice centre call numbers and the procedure for enabling the SMS service.
