icon flashes and acoustic warning signals are issued. Move
towards the base station, otherwise the call will be
disconnected. If the connection between the handset and base

5.14 Temporary tone dialling
If you only operate the telephone using the Pulse dialling method (refer
to Chapter 9.2.2), you can still make use of the advantages of the Tone
dialling method (e .g.: remote access of the answering machine). During
a call, you can temporarily switch to Tone dialling. To do this, press the
* button for 1 second. When the call is ended, the equipment switches
back to Pulse dialling.
5.15 Paging the handset from the base station
If you have misplaced the handset, press the Paging button on the base
station. The handset rings for 30 seconds, making it easy to find. To
interrupt the function prematurely before the 30 seconds has expired,
press any button on the handset or the Paging button on the base
station.
5.16 Chain dialling
The chain dialling function is used in more complex telephone services,
e.g. for telephone banking, call-by-call or calling card procedures. The
function is used to transfer numbers stored in the phone book (e.g. bank
account number) while a call is actually in progress. It is also possible to
combine numbers for transfer from the phone book with numbers
entered manually (e.g. PIN number). The example below explains the
use of the chain dialling function in connection with a calling card
procedure.
Note: A calling card is a virtual telephone card. This telephone card
contains your secret PIN and calling card number .
