5.12 Key lock
If you carry the handset around a lot, you can lock the keypad so that buttons are not
inadvertently activated. Calls can still be taken in the normal way even when the key
lock function is activated.
5.12.1 Activating the key lock
Press the
# button on the handset for three seconds.
5.12.2 Deactivating the key lock
To deactivate the key lock function, press any button and
confirm by pressing the
F button within 1.5 seconds of the
PRESS OK message appearing in the display.
Tip: Press the
F button twice.
5.13 Handset ringing melody
If you do not want to be disturbed, the handset ringing melody can be deactivated.
5.13.1 Deactivating the handset ringing melody
Press the
* button for two seconds. The k icon appears in the
display. The base s tation rings in the event of an incoming call
but not the handset.
5.13.2 Activating the handset ringing melody
Press the
* button again for 2 seconds. The k icon disappears from the display.
5.14 Notes on range
The handset has a range of approx. 50 meters in closed
rooms and approx. 300 meters outdoors. In the case of a good
connection to the base station, the
l icon appears in the
display.
Note: If the handset is moved too far from the base station, the
l icon flashes
and acoustic warning signals are issued. Move towards the base station,
otherwise the call will be disconnected. If the connection between the
handset and base station has been interrupted, SEARCHING appears in the
display.
5.15 Temporary tone dialling
If you only operate the telephone using the Pulse dialling method (refer to C hapter
9.2.4), you can still make use of the advantages of the Tone dialling method
(e.g.: remote access of the answering machine). During a call, you can temporarily
switch to Tone dialling. To do this, press the
* button for 1 second. When the call is
ended, the equipment switches back to Pulse dialling.
