2. TROUBLESHOOTING
TPMS sensor valve reading problems
If your TPMS tool does not detect one or more sensors, follow this process step by step to
try to diagnose the problem:
1) The vehicle is equipped with TPMS sensors, but the tool cannot read them
(message "No sensor detected")
➔ Make sure that the selected make, model and model year match the vehicle being
tested. (See 1.3). Second option: if the sensor type mounted on the vehicle (make
and model) is known, select it directly with the tool. (See 1.4). Finally, "Scan" mode
can be used if the type of device installed on the vehicle is unknown (See 1.2).
2) The TPMS sensor or computer may be damaged or defective.
➔ Check all these items separately in order to eliminate the possible origin of the
problem.
3) The TPMS sensor mounted in the tyre is not the correct P/N.
➔ Each vehicle model – each version even – can be fitted with a different make and
model of TPMS sensor. In this case, make sure that the vehicle is fitted with the
correct TPMS sensor P/N.
4) The TPMS tool is likely to require a software update.
➔ If all the previous points have been successfully verified, the vehicle may not yet be
included in the database of the TPMS tool. In this case, simply update the device
using the WebVT software. To do so, refer to the relevant section of this user guide.
5) The TPMS tool is damaged or defective.
➔ If all the previous points have been verified, the TPMS tool may be damaged or
defective. You should then contact the local dealer.
