First cleaning
Remove all accessories and the removable shelf supports from the appliance.
See chapter ‘Maintenance and cleaning’.
Clean the appliance before first use. Place the accessories and shelf supports.
Setting the time
When the appliance is first connected to mains power or after the appliance has been without
power for an extended period of time, you must set the ‘time’.
The ‘Clock time’ flashes when you connect the appliance to the mains outlet, if there has been a
power failure or if the time is not set.
Press the ‘+’ or ‘–’ button for the clock to set the correct time.
After about five seconds it stops flashing and the clock shows the set time of day.
Changing the time
You cannot change the time of day when the ‘Preparation time’ or ‘End’ functions are in
use.
Hold the ‘Clock’ button until the symbol for the function flashes.
See ‘Setting the time’ to set a new time.
Preheating
Preheat the appliance to burn off the remaining grease.
1. Select the ‘Top and bottom heat’ function and set the maximum temperature.
2. Let the appliance operate for an hour.
3. Select the ‘Grill’ function and set the maximum temperature.
4. Let the appliance operate for 15 minutes.
5. Select the ‘Hot air’ function and set the maximum temperature.
6. Let the appliance operate for 15 minutes.
Accessories may become hotter than usual. The appliance may emit a strange smell and smoke.
This is normal. Provide adequate ventilation in the kitchen.
