If a knob is turned to any position before placing a pan on the
radiant element, the relative display shows the set power value
and then immediately replaces it with the pan detection symbol
(the radiant element stands by for 10 minutes). If in the meantime
a pan is placed correctly on the radiant element, cooking will
begin; otherwise the radiant element does not activate and the pan
detection symbol switches off. To reactivate the radiant element,
the relative knob must be returned to “0” position and a new power
value set.
The power level adjusts itself
In induction cooking, only the zone on which the pan in placed
is used. If you use a small pan on a large zone, the power will be
adjusted to the diameter of the pan. The power will thus be lower
and it will take longer before the food in the pan comes to the boil.
Power distribution
The maximum applicable power is distributed among the active
cooking zones.
The last power level set takes priority over the previous settings on
the other zones. On activating the last cooking zones, the values
on the displays of the previously set zones, will start to flash,
automatically showing the new lower power level supplied.
If the heating value of any of the radiant elements is manually
reduced, the difference in power will be redistributed among the
remaining elements.
Power is distributed automatically among the three cooking zones
on the left and the two Bridge zones on the right.
Induction noises
A ticking sound
This is caused by the capacity limiter on the front and back zones.
Ticking can also occur at lower settings.
Pans are making noise
Pans can make some noise during cooking. This is caused by the
energy flowing from the hob to the saucepan. At high settings this is
perfectly normal for some pans. It will not damage either the pans or
the hob.
