Extract the appliance by pulling it using the special handles 2.
(fi g. 12).
Lift the central lid, place one or two level measures of ground 3.
coff ee in the funnel (see fi g. 13). Close the lid, push the appliance
to replace it and proceed as described in paragraph 5.2.1. on
page 10 (‘Preparing coff ee’).
5.2.6 Notes
Never add the ground coff ee when the appliance is off to avoid it •
being dispersed inside the appliance.
Never put in more than 2 level measuring spoonfuls, otherwise •
the appliance either makes no coff ee, the ground coff ee goes all
round the appliance and contaminates it, or the coff ee comes out
in drips and the message GROUND TOO FINE ADJUST MILL
+ PRESS HOT WATER KEY is displayed.
When dosing the quantity of coff ee to be added, use the •
measuring spoon supplied only.
Use ground coff ee for espresso coff ee makers only. Do not use •
coff ee beans, freeze-dried coff ee or other materials that could
damage the appliance.

5.2.4 Setting the grind level
If coff ee is dispensed too quickly or too slowly (in drips), you can
change the grind level during the milling process. (fi g. 11).
e grind level can only be changed during the milling process.
Changing the settings when the mill mechanism is at rest can
damage the coff ee machine.
Turning it 1 click (1 number) clockwise, it speeds up the coff ee
delivery (without drips). Turning it 1 click anticlockwise, it slows
down the delivery (giving a creamier appearance to the coff ee). ese
adjustments will only be evident after at least 2 cups of coff ee have
been run off .
Turn anticlockwise to obtain fi ner ground coff ee, slower delivery •
and a creamier appearance.
Turn clockwise for coarser ground coff ee and faster delivery (not a •
drop at a time).
5.2.5 Preparing espresso coff ee using ground coff ee (instead of
beans)
Turn the “coff ee strength/preground coff ee” knob completely 1.
to the left
(for 1 cup) or completely to the right (for
2 cups), to select the function for preground coff ee. is puts
the coff ee grinding mill out of action.  e appliance shows
ESPRESSO CUP PRE-GROUND 1 CUP/2 CUPS.
