14. Additional information
14.1 Solid fuel burning performance
The solid fuel burning data figures (footnotes ‘1’), as stated in the specification table on
page 29, were achieved when burning ‘Maxibrite’ briquettes, using the optional solid fuel
grate bars, when fitted to the stove.
Burning solid fuel on the ‘flexi’ wood grate will not achieve the stated figures and will
shorten the life expectancy of the grate and firebox liner components.
Therefore, if you are predominately burning manufactured solid fuels (MSF) then it is
recommended that you purchase and use the solid fuel grate bars.
The supplied flexi wood grate bars, can simply be removed, by lifting out from the firebox
and the new solid fuel grate bars dropped in, observing the High and Low ends of each
bar, in an alternating pattern, across the width of the firebox.
14.2 Twin walled flue—Reduced distances to combustibles
For twin walled flue installations, reduced distances to combustible materials can be
observed, as stated in the table on page 28 (Figures highlighted by **). This information
can also be found on the data label attached to the stove.
These reduced distances can be taken into account during installation, however, the
minimum distances were ONLY achieved when using Arada specified twin wall starter
section (Schiedel 5” (149644) & 6” (149645)) and together with the rear heat shield, fitted
to the appliance.
