8. Installation of the ground anchor
Choose a location where the clothes airer can rotate freely. Depending on the soil you can either
screw-in the ground anchor or fix it in concrete.
1. Remove the transport protection from the tip of the screw-in ground anchor (see g. E).
2. Remove the protective caps
6
from the cover
7
.
3. Hook the cover in the holder of the ground anchor
10
until it engages (see fig. D).
Screw-in the ground anchor
The ground anchor can be screwed into the ground (ground level) using the included screw-in tool
5
and
9
.
1. Put the two protective caps
6
onto the ends of the alu-tube
9
(see g. F).
2. Insert the alu-tube
9
through the upper openings of the screw-in tool
5
.
3. To reach a using height of approx. 5.91 ft/180 cm, insert the spacer
8
into the helical-shaped
ground socket
10
and push it to the very end (see fig. D). Without the spacer the using height is
approx. 5.64 ft/172 cm.
4. Insert the screw-in tool into the ground anchor and screw the ground anchor clockwise into the
ground until the top edge is level with the soil. Pour a little water into the inside of the screw-in
ground anchor so that it can be screwed in more easily.
5. Remove the screw-in tool and also any soil that may have penetrated out of the ground anchor.
6. Place the clothes airer with the main standard, until the arrow mark, into the ground anchor.
Please make sure your clothes airer is in a perpendicular position (see fig. F). You can check this
by using a sprit level.
You can now use the clothes airer.
Fixing the ground anchor into concrete
If you want to put the clothes airer in a location with sandy or stony soil you should fix the ground
anchor with concrete. This will ensure a firm footing.
1. Dig a hole with a diameter of about 40 cm and a depth of 30 cm with a spade or a shovel
(seefig. G).
2. Wrap newspaper around the lower end of the ground anchor
10
to cover the holes
18
. This
prevents the holes at the bottom from being concreted and penetrated water can drain from the
ground anchor.
3. To reach a using height of approx. 5.91 ft/180 cm, insert the spacer
8
into the helical-shaped
ground socket
10
and push it to the very end (see fig. D). Without the spacer the using height is
approx. 5.64 ft/172 cm.
4. Fix the ground anchor into the concrete according to the concrete specified procedure. The
newspaper at the bottom of the ground anchor is also concreted.
5. Place the clothes airer with the main standard, until the arrow mark, into the ground anchor,
before the concrete is hard. Please make sure your clothes airer is in a perpendicular position (see
fig. G). You can check this by using a sprit level.
6. Remove the clothes airer from the ground anchor and wait until the concrete is completely
hardened.
You can now use the clothes airer.
