Problem Reason Solution
The ceramic glass pane is
becoming sooty too quickly
As a matter of principle: All stove glass windows will need to be cleaned with
glass cleaner from time to time (depending on sue).
Poor draught Check with chimney sweep if draught is poor (the chimney height may need to
be increased)
Wrong regulation When the regulation is wrong set the slide damper control without fail as in
the Operator’s Manual (when the secondary air regulator is closed the glass
window soots-up very quickly but when properly dealt with and operated the
stove can burn itself clean)
Wrong regulation See: “Fuel and fuel quantity” for dealing with wrong regulation
Damp wood See: “Fuel and fuel quantity” for dealing with damp wood
if necessary wood briquettes should be used (these are evenly dried)
Stove does not draw properly
Chimney draught is inadequate See: “Operation” (slide damper control)
Stove is sooted-up internally See: “Maintenance and cleaning”
Fire in stove does not light
properly
Influence of weather See: “Operation”
Wrong fire lighting procedure See: “Operation”
Stove smells and smokes into
the room

Stove is dusty/dirty See: ”Maintenance and cleaning”
Enamel coating does not harden
Burning-in phase
has not been properly completed
See: “Operation” (hardening of the enamel coating)
Smoke comes into the room when
putting fresh wood on the fire
and during the heating phase
Inadequate chimney draught,
stovepipe connection is not
properly sealed
Check to link points and seal again if necessary
