SAFETY DISTANCES AND SAFETY MEASURES

CHECK THE FLOOR LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY

AND CONNECTIONS

Make very sure before setting up that the ﬂoor

structure is strong enough to bear the weight of the

stove. Changes must not be made to the ﬁreplace

appliance. Apart from anything else this will result

in a loss of your guarantee and warranty. Observe

the appropriate installation instructions when ins-

talling your stovepipe to the chimney if it is in the

area of walls that have wooden panelling.

BEWARE OF CONDENSATION

Wet fuel material and operating the stove when it is

too intensively damped down can lead to condensa-

tion in the chimney, i.e. to the build-up of deposits of

materials that are easily combustible, such as soot

and tar and which could result in a chimney ﬁre.

Should this ever happen, call the ﬁre department

and bring everyone in the building to safety.

HOW TO AVOID FLUE GAS FORMATION AND WHAT

TO DO IF IT DEVELOPS:

Watch the development of ﬂue gas closely in dif-

ﬁcult weather conditions (atmospheric inversi-

on) and check the draught conditions. Inadequate

draught can cause smoke to blow back into the li-

ving room or cause smoke to escape from the sys-

tem. Damaging deposits can build up in the stove

and in the chimney as a result.

SAFETY DISTANCES AND SAFETY MEASURES

When smoke comes out of the oven let the ﬁre

go out and then check if all air inlets and smoke

outlets are clear and clean. If in doubt call the

chimney sweep.
